The freightliner have the blue button. The internationals don't
yea and cant find out how to check the service side. Safety man said to look in the manual, the manual says to use the trailer brake valve on the dash, in the diagram next to radio. ours doesnt have one , it is a blank space. so I m stumped.

I've worked for several other companies in the past and this is the first company that I've worked for that has the blue valve. I've never have used blue value before. Still don't understand what value it brings. You can do a brake check without blue button

So how do you check the service side on the trailers and dolly

Pretty simple get a piece of a broom stick cut to fit between the brake pedal and seat frame and can also check your brake lights at the same time, problem solved
Is the company going to provide me a cut peice of broom stick. You know if I go and cut a broom stick on the dock I could get an LOI or be fired for willfully destruction of company property

The blue valve allows the brake pedal to stay depressed so that when you're outside checking your airlines for leaks, you can also see if your brake lights are working properly. Can't do that simply by pressing the red valve and leaving the tractor brakes locked.

I used the “lamp check” button on the dash to check the lights. All lights including the four way flashers must be turned off first. It cycles through all the lights. Unfortunately, you can’t check for air leaks unless the pedal is pressed down.
