You are free to bring up anything you want at any time, but please try to be accurate when you do. The Butch Lewis Act would LOAN the cash needed to refund the CSPF, however, there are provisions in the act that would require the money to be repaid with interest. Much like the auto industry bail out that was fully repaid to the federal government...with interest.
You are either naive, desperate to the point that you're fooling yourself, or you think that we're stupid and you are successfully pulling a fast one. The Butch Lewis Act is a con job from the get go. The feds pony up the money and charge 1% interest. The plans would only have to pay the interest from year 1 to 29 and then have to cough up the principal in year 30. Here's the escape hatch built into the language.
...If a plan is unable to make any payment on a loan under this section when due, the Pension Rehabilitation Administration shall negotiate with the plan sponsor revised terms for repayment reflecting the plan's ability to make payments, which may include installment payments over a reasonable period and, if the Pension Rehabilitation Administration deems necessary to avoid any suspension of the accrued benefits of participants, forgiveness of a portion of the loan principal....
That tells me that, when the plan cannot make the payments, whether it's just the interests or the principal, the feds, aka, everyone else who pays fed taxes, will have to eat the lost but the pensioners walk away, with fully funded benefits until it becomes obvious that the plan cannot continue to pay off the loan.
You want everyone else to be accurate , well, try and be accurate and realistic, yourself. Blow your smoke somewhere else.

There is no "free" welfare for undocumented workers. They cannot receive a single dime from ANY social program...ever. They have to work to live...and they do. On top of that, they pay social security taxes, Medicare taxes, federal, state and city taxes. Because they are "illegal", they will NEVER be eligible to receive the Social Security and Medicare benefits they have paid into all their working lives. So, next time you see an "illegal", be sure to thank him for contributing to your social security and Medicare fund.
You mean illegal imagrants don’t you ?? They are here illegally ! I know many who came here the legal way with $5 in their pockets . One is sooo pissed cause he did it the legal way and now illegals get everything !

When the "system" creates the problem, the "system" deserves to be vilified. What do you think would happen if the owners of these businesses were arrested, prosecuted and jailed for hiring undocumented workers? As of today, they have no accountability whatsoever. If they refused to hire undocumented workers, where do you think those undocumented workers would go? Or, would they even come here in the first place.

And, please spare me the argument that they would still come here for free stuff, because they can't get free stuff.
But when they show forged or altered documents they get all of the "free stuff"

Neither naive or desperate and I never assume anyone is stupid. It is not a con job. It's a economically feasible plan to resolve this issue. The plan makes some assumptions, certainly, but it seems that even Republicans agree that it's worth the small risk involved, as the bill was passed in the House of Representatives last month.

Union membership is on the rise again and will continue despite the stalled efforts of the XPO campaign. And you will see that the XPO campaign will move forward again soon. There is a surge in recipients currently, as baby boomers retire and the current stagnant membership is clearly having difficulty keeping up. However, that situation will be reversed in 30 years and there is good reason to believe that increasing membership, good management the fund and the decline in eligible recipients will give this plan a good chance to succeed.

The bailout worked for the Auto industry, despite the deepest concerns of conservatives. This bailout could very well work here. How many of your tax dollars went to the bailout of the banks in 2009? You are aware that not all of the banks repaid the TARP money they were loaned. Did you voice your concern over that?

I'll blow my smoke where ever I choose. You can continue to do the same. Just wondering if you have a pension because you sound jealous of those who do. Maybe we should have voted the Teamsters in 50 years ago.

Free health care in California, it's already the law there and coming to a state near you soon. Nationwide if a Democrat wins in 2020.
I have never in my life voted for a Republican and in 2020 I will vote for nothing but Republicans.

California's Medi-Cal plan will be expanded to cover undocumented children. Some adults at 138% of poverty level will be offered coverage as well. It is not blanket coverage for all undocumented immigrants.

Assuming this will become law in all 50 states is a bit presumptuous. I know that all the participants in the Democratic debate raised their hand but that's a far cry from getting it included in the 2020 Democratic platform. They are all trying to "out Progressive" each other, at the moment. The policies included in the platform will moderate as the field narrows.

Do you really think that CentraL States can pay off a loan? The auto companies made a product, which resulted in their ability to pay off their loans. What product does the pension plans make? I've been working for over 40 years and my Fidelity pension plan, with company match, is a 401k worth almost 7 figures. It's under my control and under my name. What you got?

They are not "undocumented imigrants" they are people who illegally entered our country and have no right to be here. California is giving free health care to adult illegal immigrants. Not every adult, just give them some time and it will be blanket coverage.

I know this will fall on deaf ears, but let me try anyway. Poor men can't offer anyone a job. so, we agree on that. I also know some very wealthy people who are not evil, so we agree on that too! Comes along a rich man and he hires you to work for him. There are 10 employees in the shop, including you. Each of you earn 50K per year. At the end of the first year, the company posts a 1 million dollar NET profit. Fair enough. You and the other 9 employees work hard to make this company successful. at the end of the second year, the company posts a 2 million dollar profit. Same employees...same expenses. How much of a raise should you get? And, who decides?

Here's my point. While we agree that we know some wealthy people who aren't evil, most of them care only for profit. Neither you nor I make their list of things that really matter to them. We are a means to an end and they only care about us in the sense that we do the work that fills their pockets.

So when compensation time comes around, it is to their sole discretion as to what we earn and what benefits we receive. Don't believe it...check the Policies and Procedures manual. Under General Policies, page 5.

XPO RESERVES THE RIGHT TO INTERPRET, AMEND, MODIFY AND/OR TERMINATE THESE POLICIES AT ANY TIME, AS WELL AS THE BENEFITS PLANS REFERRED TO IN THIS HANDBOOK, WITH OR WITHOUT ADVANCE NOTICE.

SO, THIS SAYS DON'T BOTHER READING THE MANUAL BECAUSE THEY CAN DO ANYTHING THEY WANT, ANY TIME THEY WANT, TO ANYONE THEY WANT, WITHOUT NOTICE...

How do you, as an individual, negotiate with someone who assumes all the rights and conditions of your employment. How do you, as an individual, prevent the race to the bottom. They will only sweeten the pot, if they feel it is the only way to keep you happy. In fact, you have seen what they usually do first hand. Instead of sweetening the pot, the start to take benefits away from you to test your tolerance level. You've read the manual. They tell you in black and white that this is their right to do so. So, they take bereavement days. That's OK by you. Then, they take PTO accrual and that's OK with you. They they take your ability to go negative PTO. And that's OK too! WAIT, it's not OK...so, they give it back. Then, they take Some disability benefits. Then, they change Drive Cam coaching and turn it into discipline. No problem. I can't even tell you what else they have taken BECAUSE THEY HAVEN'T TOLD YOU YET...They don't have to.

You are an "at will" employee. You are free to leave your job (that's a benefit, right) and they can fire you...just because!

You wake up with a migraine. Can't go to work. You call in sick and have to use your vacation time to cover your day off...in bed. On top of that, you are charged with an attendance point, because your weren't sure if you would have a migraine on that day, so you didn't request the day in advance and it wasn't approved.

You're making a delivery to an abusive customer. The guy is always in a bad mood. This one day, you've had enough and snap back at him. No profanity, just a terse response. The next day, your TM calls you in and fires you. It seems this customer wrote an email, accusing you of urinating in your trailer while parked in his dock. No witnesses, no video and no corroboration of any kind. You're fired anyway. This actually happened to one of our guys.

A UNION CONTRACT RESOLVES ALL OF THESE ISSUES ...PERIOD.
Thousands of poor men purchase the product the rich man manufactures

They can definitely pay off a loan under the conditions discussed before. They don't need to make a product. Increased membership, a great fund manager and dwindling pool of participants over the next 30 years. It's not guaranteed, but it's not a stretch either.

Auto companies made a product. It was a :shit:ty product and if it wasn't for some intelligent, forward looking management decisions, and they continued with that :shit:ty product, they wouldn't have been able to pay off their loans.

We shall see. A lot of Democratic voters like me are being left behind. If the Democrats are the party of health care for illegal aliens, the party of guaranteed incomes , Green New Deal, banning firearms, etc I think they will continue to lose.

With respect, radman, you are not accurately representing the left wing point of view. Nor are you noting the positive positions the left takes that support working men like us.
