Yellow | YRC consolidates its Roadway and Yellow Transportation subsidiaries

One thing I wonder is, are they doing this renaming to write off things on their taxes? Again, "my experience with that other company".....When YFS bought that "Other" they paid cash and took over the debt. They immediately got us to agree to a wage concession that equalled the payout over the 6 years we were allowed to remain open. They remortaged the debt back on the "other". They then filed an amended tax return. Later-- when they sold the "Other", they again amended their prior years taxes and speeded up depriciation. Later still, when the "other" closed, they immediately took all the remaining filing advantages , plus refiling yet another amended return. I have to think, in my simple mind, they more than recovered their out of pocket expense thru writeoffs alone.

These current management changes could have occured easily enough in the YRC Global company that existed. Instead they formed yet another new corporation. In the last years, we've gone from Yellow Corp; to Yellow-Roadway Corp; to YRC Global; to now YRC Nationwide and YRC Regional and Meridain IQ. I'm no expert by a long shot, but I'd say this is about tax filings/writeoffs; and corporation liability almost as much as or maybe even more so than managing......It also set things up better if they decide to sell one segment, or close one segment. Yet another company I used to work for (Whiteford Truck Lines, out of South Bend) never owned anything. They leased everything-- even the employees, who worked for WTL Equipment Co. When they wanted out of their contract, they folded the corporation, and started another all over again. When the corporation bankrupted later-- they couldn't be touched. They owned nothing....

Yellow has the best lawyers in the industry. No one plans farther ahead, or covers their tracks better. Hopefully, none of this is negative stuff-- only strengthing our position in the market. But it's interesting to watch...... Stay tuned.....

............

SAIA, JEVIC, Roadway, USF Corp, New Penn....ALL bought with Yellow's Money!..........KK
:hysterical: Good one kk you got me. I should have clarified my question cuz I'm dealing with rocket scientist on this board. But let's revisit this a few years down the road, hopfully you can give me the same answer:tongue0015: :smilie_132: :1036316054:

yo uw....

metaphoricaly yrc has to be like a pilot fish swimming in front of a mako shark....

the national economy is the shark and yrc has to be in front of it to get first bite.....

Mikeeeeee,

I beg to differ with you here.
The pilot fish feeds on the shark's scraps, and swims under or above, and always behind the head of a shark or it too will become lunch. Personally, I have always thought of Yellow as the shark, or the Big Fish. The only comparison I can make here is that once the shark eats everything around it, it too will eventually die, but not before killing off everything in it's path.

thanks for buyin usf lol

:chairshot: :chairshot: our hours have been cut & our med & dental isnt what it used to be,SO THANKS YELLOW:chairshot:

I do not understand your comment ,that your med & dental is not what it used to be thanks Yellow. If you are a Teamster, you are protected under the National Master Freight Agreement ,if you work the hours ,as provided in the contract ,you get the benifits,it is that simple. All Yellow has to do is make the payments to the fund when you meet the contractual time.So if your saying what I think your saying I have to disagree with you.I understand you being upset with your hours being cut,but it is going on everywhere,it is a part of this business.

Why is everyone getting so fired up about this merger in management? Can any of us do a thing about it? NO. It is their corp. and they are going to do with it as they damn well want to do with it,and I do'nt think that there is alot we can do about it ,except buy 51% of the stock, any takers?

benifits
