What happened the first 2yrs did the dems switch sides?????
The plan was considered 100% funded until 2007 . I don’t even think their was legislation written to help it until 2017. If a bill was written in Obama’s first 2yrs that he rejected then he was part of the problem also

Precisely. The filthy rich, for the most part, may not spend as much here as they would (do?) in a foreign economy. What we’re seeing now is just trickle-down economics reinvented. “Give the rich even MORE money (through insane tax cuts), and it will trickle down to the middle class and beyond.” Who was it that coined the phrase ‘Voodoo Economics’ when Ronnie was selling us this bag of crap? Indeed it DIDN’T trickle down back then, and it sure as hell isn’t now. Greed is the root of all evil.
Under those 8 yrs Republicans controlled the senate they would block anything Obama would put through
Now you are trying to slip in an untrue statement. You better go check your facts, so-called facts anyway.

They known since 1982 per the report by the GAO
https://www.gao.gov/assets/700/692268.pdf
What GAO Found
The Central States, Southeast and Southwest Areas Pension Fund (CSPF) was established in 1955 to provide pension benefits to trucking industry workers, and is one of the largest multiemployer plans. According to its regulatory filings, CSPF had less than half the estimated funds needed to cover plan liabilities in 1982 at the time it entered into a court-enforceable consent decree that provides for oversight of certain plan activities. Since then, CSPF has made some progress toward achieving its targeted level of funding; however, CSPF has never been more than 75 percent funded and its funding level has weakened since 2002, as shown in the figure below.

I believe we were talking about the coal miners fund that my post was about. The Cspf Was not what I was referring to.

Oh sorry got off tract.
Well let see it was Harry Truman, a Democrat, promised it with the Promise of 1946. Also in the article they have know since 2008 and with the war on coal by the Obozo Admin didn't help it either. Damm I thought they were for the working man......

https://www.heritage.org/taxes/comm...-set-the-stage-multi-trillion-dollar-taxpayer
That’s because the UMWA is not the only pension plan that has made promises to its workers and failed to set aside the funds to keep those promises. Out of nearly 1,400 union-run or “multiemployer” pension plans across the U.S., 85 percent of them are less than 70 percent funded, and they have promised $500 billion more than they can pay.

We the TAXPAYERS did not makes these promises, but now you want us to bail you out

I believe both legislation only calls for tax payer relief if all else fails but I’m not completely sure of that to be honest. I will have to read up on it more

Sean Duffy says unions will shrink, 'lose their health care plans' under Bernie Sanders

What this article doesn’t do is spell out exactly how Sanders will kill unions. Is insurance the main reason to have a union?
I think they are referring to socializing healthcare which Sanders supports would minimize the need for unions and the better healthcare plans they provide. That’s my understanding. I’m not a Sanders supporter before anyone accuses me because of my answer.

Bernie said the unions would have to lose their Cadillac plans. Not a whole lot of reasons to vote democrat this coming election. The candidates are horrific.

I don't think strait single payer can pass. Still too many folks not ready for it. We may see a public option, where people can opt in if they want to and others can keep their private insurance. That may be a feasible alternative.

With respect to the Democratic candidates, I would choose any one of Sanders, Warren, Biden, Harris over our current fearless leader. Have you seen what's going on lately? Trade wars, tariffs, the bond yield curve inversion and the wild fluctuations in the market. Russia just tested a nuclear missile now that the anti proliferation agreement is dead. No Iran deal, no North Korea deal...There's one great reason to vote Democratic.

Would electing Bernie help or hurt the xpo union drive?

Not sure. Keep in mind employers pay nearly $400.00 per man per week for health care. For XPO, that's 457 million dollars back in their account. Of course, companies taxes would increase based on what ever version of single payer could pass. But there would be a lot more money available for increased wages, better equipment etc. I think we'll see a public option, so those who want to, can keep their private insurance. I couldn't believe it, but the economist confirmed $400.00 per man per week.

Now you are trying to slip in an untrue statement. You better go check your facts, so-called facts anyway.

Common perception is that President Obama had a super majority in both the House and Senate for two full years. That's inaccurate. He actually had a filibuster proof super majority for a little over 4 months, from September 24, 2009 through February 4, 2010. So, 7 years and 8 months of Republican obstruction and 4 months of total control. Check out the link.

The only way he got his stimulus package passed was because Snowe, Collins and Specter crossed party lines and voted for it. These are the facts!

I can't vote for any of them. Bunch of crooks. All of them. Elephants and Donkeys.

I'll throw mine at the Libertarian or Constitutional candidate if one is available.

That said. If I had to choose. I would deal with the Donald over the Communists.

"Communists" is a nice buzz word but not nearly an accurate description of the candidates. You may not agree with their politics, but come on. With respect to everything that has happened recently, the economy, foreign affairs, inability to keep a cabinet intact, withdrawing from the non proliferation treaty with Russia, meaningless tariffs and trade wars and so on, aren't you even a little bit concerned that this guy doesn't really understand what he is doing? I'm not even talking about the insane tweets in the middle of the night or his apparent disdain for any one who disagrees with him. Forget the hookers and p*on stars. And the 12,000 "Misstatements" aka lies. I'd vote for Mickey Mouse or even Goofy before I would deal with him.

All I'll say is I'm concerned.
He is not as he says "the chosen one"
Who the (I'll be nice) says that.

Put Mickey Mouse or Goofy on the ticket. They got a better shot than Bernie or Biden.
