FedEx Freight | Raises 2019

Management continues to prep for a lower raise. When they say "we are facing trade concerns company wide but we are staying focused" I would not expect a "windfall". It needs to be above 60 cents just to keep up with inflation.
That number is far too low. It would be 1/3 less than what our lesser competitors did.

While I can't predict with any certainly, due so many changes in upper Brass.

I will say, based on the last earnings report (near double digit O/R), AND the tax windfall, AND the competitive nature of the market... Anything less than $1/hr (1.7 cents/mi.) would be disappointing, and indicative of our direction, priorities, value, etc.

Other LTLs have bumped 90 cents plus increased 401k. THAT would be reasonable, too. IMHO

The 401k match definitely leaves a lot to be desired. Walmart matches 100% of 6% and 15% of your contribution to the ESPP. FedEx doesn't contribute anything to the ESPP.

Walmart drivers are also gone for week(s) at a time and sleep in their trucks in a Walmart parking lot....I’ll gladly take what we have! :1036316054:
Actually Walmart drivers are out 5 days, home 2,for 34 reset. They bid their start days and times, quarterly.

Posted elsewhere, but worth mentioning here.

MEMPHIS, Tennessee, Aug. 29, 2019 — FedEx Corp. (NYSE:FDX) announced today that it has agreed to acquire Cargex S.A., an international freight forwarding company with over 25 years of experience with a focus in export management of perishable goods, and Agencias de Aduanas Aduanamos S.A. Nivel 2, an affiliate of Cargex specializing in customs brokerage services.

Granted this is FedEx Corporation, our parent Company, but as the current narrative goes, belt tightening is in order due to the struggles at Express. Also, per last quarterly/annual report, FedEx Freight is extremely strong.

So, all of this shows that budgeting/planning, etc., are prioritized, separated, and compartmentalized, differently depending on the topic of discussion.

I agree that we are putting up great numbers. Management told us that and in the same breath said not get our expectations high. I would welcome them finally increasing the 401 match and a little lower then recent raises but I doubt they will ever throw us a bone there. I bump my contribution 1% every raise anyway.

:-) That

I took a couple Statistics classes in College. I never believe anything I read anymore, (unless it’s reported by CNN).

I wouldn't say never, when it comes increasing the match. There is a favorable "spin" that Corp. can and will use, when that time comes.

Regardless of how they do it (100% match up to the current 6% limit, or raise match limit to 10%), the spin can/will be the same.

Example:
If they choose to raise the 50% match limit from 6% to 10%, it would be sold as a 2% raise (50% of 4%), but the actual cost would be far less. Participation rates are nowhere near 100%. Only 65% of all workers eligible participate at all. Slightly higher % for those in our income bracket. Even less participate at the maximum, regardless of the limit.

So, since the Company could take credit for a 2% increase, while having an actual cost that would be a fraction of that, I would NOT rule it out.

Personally, I'd like the wage to be equally competitive (superior?) at all locations 1st, then increase the 401(k). But the reality seems to indicate that 401(k) would be far more likely than any GPD correction, IMHO.

Why would N. Korea want Trump to lose? Remember, he is buddies with them. Trump said “he fell in love” with Kim Jung. They are boys. There are several tweets from your boy Donnie praising Kim.

Why would Russia not want Trump? Remember, Congress wanted to pose sanctions on Russia and Trump didn’t? Why not? Oh yeah, him and Putin are boys.
This is way off if there's going to be a raise. Is President Trump great .... no but a least he didn't have knee pads like former President Obama did for the Saudi king, President Trump didn't take it the ass from Iran ( ie giving them 400 million) for what. Done now back to is there a raise this yr or not and how much

Perhaps our 401 K match isn't as anemic as some would have us believe? that having been said, would love to see it increase...

I used to work for a very, very large software company and their match was the same as ours.

That said, we also got granted stock options as part of our yearly bonus. Hell, I'd just welcome Fedex to allow us to buy Fedex stock at a discount. We can't even buy it as part of our 401K.

But you can buy it as a payroll deduction
