FedEx Freight | Raises 2019

Hey, it looks like they are "streamlining and cutting costs", elsewhere. Perhaps to pay for a significant increase in hourly/mileage compensation? :poke:

The position of Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer will be eliminated upon M.T. 3's retirement, AND FedEx will begin phasing out domestic partner and civil union partner health benefits, except where Sate law mandates. Not just "Freight".

Seems the above savings should/could fund at least another five (maybe 10?) cents/hour "Enterprise" wide. Stay tuned. <insert sarcasm>

Don’t get your hopes up!! :coffee1:

They're making us rebid. They're adding 4 10 hour shifts to cut down on the OT.

They did 4 10s here also but due to over hiring it hasn't helped, come winter I see at least 3 guys getting layed off at my barn, they gave like 5 convenience days the other day.

Just seems odd, Sept and no word from the reichs chancellory yet
Perhaps they are waiting for the next earnings report to be released (made public), in order to justify whatever number has been decided on. They certainly already know what the report will show.

Worth remembering is how close we were to hitting the double digit O/R number, said to be a top priority. Last quarter, I seem to recall, was only about half a point off. That being the case, every savings they can find could push that number into double digits.

That being said, often they will spend excess $ on straight time, just to avoid a fraction of that cost under the O/T column. Corporate directives, no matter what.

They misplaced the decimal point.

.2 for city
.02 for road.

You should all be grateful.
2 cents for road would be awesome but it just doesnt make cents. Only 2 cents well be getting is them sharing their thoughts as to why we are getting .01. But on a serious note they did this with the bonus. All hush nothing said all the way to the end. Now here we are with the raise. All hush nothing said whereas in years past you knew about these things a month before if not way before that. Its damn odd

Need to rename this thread "The Pie in the sky dream thread". Stock options for drivers...good luck. Some tech companies offer stock, not sure if anyone in transportation does. As for putting your 401 K into fedex stock, remember Enron...
Time for FedEx to start thinking outside the box when it comes to compensation. There is no reason why Tech Companies do this and Transportation companies cannot. Especially if the stock is going sideways/down like it is now.

I heard from a friend of a friend, who know's a guy, who's related to a friend of a guy, who's daughter's boyfriend's cousin's uncle is an executive at Old Dominion...and he says that YRC says that ABF told him FedEx freight is giving a paycut to city drivers and a raise to road driver's.

It must be true. Let's all be pissed off right now!
