XPO | Nnc Lay-off Update

At your barn there is a lady dockworker that relocated ( her and her family ) from Charleston to go through the driver school. Once moved they told no schools scheduled.

So you may move for the opportunity and once you get there it's gone.

I'm all for people wanting to better themselves. But she was just dumb to do that. And now she is well pissed. And what can you say ? Maybe come spring ? With our turnover ? The slow down everyone is complaining about, still has us swamped. So, it's probably only a delay. I wouldn't have trusted it. But I am used to being lied to.

The way XHG is in the safety news everyday. We are wondering if there are any drivers left out there. Must be good jobs in the area. And nothing left but nOObs.
From what a driver told me within the last year 3 other LTL carriers have set up shop with 10mins of XHG. I know OD and A Duie Pyle. I can't remember the third one though.
I have heard of move drivers firing themselves at XHG. One was drunk while out doing P&D even had the 5th in the truck with him. State impounded the truck and trailer. Other broke down between the tunnels on the PA turnpike with a hazmat restricted load. Other, and from what I hear he was the #1 driver at that barn, would put himself in yard mode about 10 mile away on the EOBR so he did have to take his 30min break when he did his meet and turn. To quote Forrest Gump

And it's like this throughout the company. Not isolated to XHG. No one cares. There is no accountability anywhere. Jacobs has created an environment of failure and indifference.

Xpo driver told me Friday they laid off a driver at every terminal

Not every single terminal. Probably not. But throughout the system. Many drivers. Yes, that is true. And many management been walked out. Yes. That is true. Shop guys and office staff. Gone, see ya and goodbye. Yes, that is true. The ax is out and it's sharp. CUT AND GUT. SLASH AND CASH. Don't forget customers. Cutting them too. Who needs them ? PFFT ! Customers. LOL. This is an accounting firm masquerading as a trucking company. It's all about the " internal " customer. Who ever that is. Cook them books, boys !!!

At my terminal the fos transferred to Florida was there 1month and laid him off. Thank you for your 28 years of service
Huge revolving door at my barn too. Drivers quitting, fos’s quitting, others expressing their desire to leave but their circumstances not allowing them to just yet, but they will eventually. Now we’re looking at the old guard that was hired on 25 plus years ago under the ccx expansion into the northeast... they’re on the brink of being put out to pasture cause they’re getting too old to keep working freight in their 60’s and 1 quickly approaching 70. All these guys will have to be replaced in the not to distant future.
The problem is, it’s very hard to replace this constant turn over of management and drivers. We’re getting a lot of foreigners, ( guys from Africa, Egypt, etc cause Americans don’t want to work freight...can’t blame them, I don’t either.
Bottom line, sorry to hear of all the guy’s getting the ax at various sic’s, that’s really a tough thing to go through with a family that’s counting on you to provide. I feel for you. Wish you could come here to work, we could sure use you.
Anyway , I wish you all well inspire of your adverse circumstances.

It isn't that no one wants to work freight. It's that no one wants to work for a crooked company that cheats it's employees and customers. XPO has a terrible reputation. On many levels.
