YRC Worldwide provides operational update

YRC Worldwide (NASDAQ:YRCW) updates on certain operating metrics for the first two months of Q3.

The company says YRC Freight less-than-truckload tonnage per day fell ~3.3% Y/Y in July and LTL tonnage per day decreased ~3.6% compared in August.

LTL revenue per hundredweight and LTL revenue per shipment increased approximately 1.6% and 0.8%, respectively, for the two-month period.

For the regional segment, LTL tonnage per day decreased ~1.5% in July and fell 4.4% in august. Quarter-to-date through August, LTL revenue per hundredweight decreased ~0.4%. LTL revenue per shipment remained flat when compared to last year.

“Our pricing strategy remains disciplined even with the softer overall economy," notes YRC Worldwide CEO Darren Hawkins.

Those numbers may be down BUT don’t be surprised to see an increase on the Regionals overall profits for this quarter due to a huge decrease in freight claims.
Can tell you first hand freight claims at New Penn for this quarter compared to last quarter are going to make a big difference.

Seeing it. the difference is last quarter at New Penn freight claims were out of control at the end of the last quarter there was a massive push to clean it all up, which they did all damaged freight gone.
They actually were permitted to hire and TRAIN needed supervisors and it is slower now but seeing very very little damaged freight. Seeing freight being handled and loaded correctly. Getting out almost on time.

No Wong couldn't go there, first off no boardwalk and he would be tip toeing thru the tulips plus he may get hit by the blades on the windmill just sayin'
