Per the image posed by Luis7, it's monthly.Swamp, we haven't had info on this yet in CHS. so is it weekly or monthly?
I hate when that happensRedracer3136 was right
For the amount of money this Company makes and the amount of employees it has this the best thing they can do for us? It seems to me they Don't take Us into consideration. They only care about the bottom dollar. That's why we haven't heard anything about our raises if there is one. Fed ex can't roll anything out the correct way. ELDs The city hand helds Bonus raises insurance you all know what I'm saying. WHAT WE HAVE IS A FAILURE TO COMMUNICATEFact remains our insurance got crappier and increased in price, which is pathetic given the tax break and recent performance in our sector.
Seems to me, and this is just my opinion, they should have left the cost alone. The other changes will have a FAR BIGGER IMPACT, without bumping the paycheck contribution too.For the amount of money this Company makes and the amount of employees it has this the best thing they can do for us? That is an example of effective communications, of one's opinion. Short and to the point. Hard to misunderstand or dispute.Fact remains our insurance got crappier and increased in price, which is pathetic given the tax break and recent performance in our sector.
It’s my understanding that the company spent $2.1 BILLION on healthcare last year alone. It hasn’t been said as to what percentage or dollars increase in cost versus the previous year were but I would imagine it’s probably more than the cost of our increases. For the amount of money this Company makes and the amount of employees it has this the best thing they can do for us? Been reading all the post about health insurance here's a good example of why the $150 fine will divide my co workers. Driver A is married spouse makes $75k but owns small cleaning business no fine but is covered by our insurance driver B married spouse stays at home no fine covered by our insurance and then there's myself driver C spouse works at big box store low pay $25k work offers health insurance I'm fined $150 = 1800 a year. So we have three drivers who will start 2020 with only one making $1800 a year less. First post take it easy on me.It’s my understanding that the company spent $2.1 BILLION on healthcare last year alone. Note: not defending the company, just trying to find the positive
There’s a lot less traffic on the high road!!
You explain it perfectly. That's the main reason I left Pyle. My wife only made about $30k but had a 5k deductible and she's diabetic. I'll give FedEx this at least the spouse can still be covered at a cost. That wasn't the case for me. I took a different job making $6 an hour less at starting rate but did better at the end of the month cause we weren't getting killed with medical bills.Been reading all the post about health insurance here's a good example of why the $150 fine will divide my co workers. Absolutely agree with you but it seems the fair way would to have a 4 tiered plan employee-employee plus dependent -employee dependents- spouse and employee - spouse. Which in theory if Fedex states spouses are costly to cover than its everyone’s spouse that is costly to cover not just a select few.You explain it perfectly. That's the main reason I left Pyle. I agree but unfortunately the bean counters and good old fashioned greed is making many of us see a lower standard of living than our parents had in their working primes.Absolutely agree with you but it seems the fair way would to have a 4 tiered plan employee-employee plus dependent -employee dependents- spouse and employee - spouse. OK RED. the company spent 2.1 billion on health care last year, that number would be very easy to prove and back up with facts.----here is my question that maybe you can get an answer to---spent 2.1 billion----how much did the company make on our insurance premiums???? good luck getting someone to answer that questionIt’s my understanding that the company spent $2.1 BILLION on healthcare last year alone. You’re not going to please everyone and if you try to please everyone, you’ll end up pleasing no one!!
The extra $150 month spouse fee isn’t anything to get excited about, trust me...I’ve been dealing with this for several years through my spouse’s employer.
The question we have to ask ourselves is why did they make this change?? I don’t know the “official” answer yet (we haven’t been pre-shifted) but I’m gonna guess and say cost. I know it’s been rumored in the past that our spouse’s healthcare cost more than our employees do. I’m gonna speculate and say it’s because we’re a company made up mostly of men who have to be dragged to the doctor while our spouse’s (mostly women) go regularly.
If you’re driver “C” then you’ll have to find the positive...driver “A” will have to pay the additional $150 because spouse’s small business can’t afford healthcare (most small business owners are on their spouse’s insurance)....driver “B” losses big time because their spouse has no income to offset the additional $150...so driver “C” is actually in the same boat as driver “A” except driver “A” probably owns the boat!!
Again, I don’t have all of the answers but rather than get on here and complain (you’ll find that’s what most here do), I try to find the positive!!
Yes but I’m part of the only crowd so the $1800 yearly or $150 monthly or $34.61 weekly applies to my situation. I’m not saying that bothers me the problem I’m having is that there’s a flawed loophole every spouse should be subject to the fine just because they don’t work or not Covered by their employer doesn’t mean Fedex is off the hook for their premiums. So in theory if my spouse takes the insurance with her company I should receive a credit. By the way every spouse has access to healthcare it’s called the affordable health care act.The 150 only applies if your spouses employer offers coverage. If the employer does not offer coverage (small business owner) or your spouse does not work, there is no surcharge.

Only employers with at least 50 employees have to offer insurance.Yes but I’m part of the only crowd so the $1800 yearly or $150 monthly or $34.61 weekly applies to my situation.
