What’s the difference between AOBRD AND ELD? What system do they use? I had them force me to go a particular route and sat in a grocery store parking lot for 3 days in a snow storm. They wanted me to pick up a 3rd box in Salt Lake.
 
But eld's don't ask for your first born.
What's up with that?
(i know change is inevitable. But they are gonna know every time you fart. Pick your nose. Take a dump or leak.)
My eld is my wife and she could give a rats ass about what I do.

The difference is an ELD has to be portable, a DOT or Law enforcement has to be able to inspect it without having to climb into your truck, probably had a few fall on their heads and have a Comp claim. They have to be portable and other than that not much difference....

At XPO there is some info floating around a out having to unfasten the screen to show to the DOT officer.

The screen that's mounted in the truck and supposed to stay put.

You should have some way to use Personal Conveyance to bobtail tractor around. So if you're at the motel and want to drive down to the local Applebee's or Bob Evans, you're good to go as far as DOT would be concerned. Obviously I don't work for YRCW, so company/union policy may say differently, but under HOS you would be good to go.

I use Personal Conveyance mode all the time going to/from the motel on layovers at YRCF.
