Oh so I see just be
Congratulations! You should just have admitted that you misspoke. (Lied)

YOU HAVE JUST LOST ALL CREDIBILITY WITH ME AND MANY OTHERS ON THESE BOARDS!
cause I don't have a name or better yet a video of what was said to me by one of the local union reps years ago, around the time XPH was going through there vote, I'm a liar. Think what you want

Lots of unhappy FXF drivers today. Only 2.6 or 2.3 % raise this year plus insurance went up and included the popular spouse bump. Interesting how this occurred after drivers showed no interest in a union. Let’s see, the work isn’t easier, there is still a driver shortage, profits are still high, tax cut still in effect, but only a sub-cost of living increase (3.3).
The older I get the more I see how much of the money I earn the company they unnecessarily keep. Unions are weak they know it and take advantage.
If I were teamsters I’d been all over FedEx terminals making my pitch. Let’s see if they try fxf again

If your rate of pay went up but the charged you more for insurance it may be a wash . Pay raise - higher insurance deduction = ?
These companies have it figured out . A strong economy and compensation still stagnant.

If you keep doing the same thing over and over and expect a different result stop licking the windows and put your helmet back on. These companies really dont care about you or your well being they will take and take until YOU are willing to stand up and unite as 1 against their greed.

That was not at true our location with our vote. The only guys who voted against it were lower seniority ass kissers. Guys feared they would loss there ill gotten gains too a union forced seniority

It’s funny one observation I have made on this forum is the guys who rail the most against unions seem to know the least amount about unions and how they work.
For those of us who are not as enlightened as you please explain what an ill-gotten gain is. If you have worked at this company for 20 years and that gives you the right to pick first for job selection and gives you rights to pick your vacation time how in the hell is that an ill-gotten gain? There are only two perks you get with seniority in this company. Job selection and vacation pick. How in the hell is either one of them an ill-gotten gain? What I read in your post was envy. Envy is always unbecoming. Name calling falls under that category also.

I am referring to some bottom to mid level employees who use other than being hard working alone to gain what senior employees rightfully get . Another words they spend time doing what we would traditionally call brown nosing to gain favor and thus be rewarded with favoritism. In my opinion that’s not to be envied. Union seniority scares the hell out of those people.

As far as name calling I will use the “ term People who engage in extracurricular activity” . There that should not offend.Snowflake:17142::poke:

I don't presume to be able to "educate" anyone. It's fact versus fiction. There is nothing more obvious than the fact that gains in the workforce have been made when people stand together for a singular purpose. A group of people can make changes that no one individual could ever hope to make.

It's not a difficult concept. There are those on this site who are vehemently anti union and no one will ever change their mind. I do not post for them. This thread has over 1 million views and I post for those thousands who are sitting on the fence and choose not to make their opinions public. I wish they would. Those that have been lied to by management and may still be concerned about retaliation for taking that leap of faith. I was one of the concerned and I was afraid to take that first step. That should no longer be an issue for anyone. 6 terminals have certified and have been able to protect what they have in terms of policy. No policy can be changed until and unless it is addressed in a contract. It is a fact that 7 have been fired over the years, but it is also a fact that every one of those guys were reinstated and received all of their back pay in a nice fat check. Some returned to work and others took their check and left for union jobs with other carriers. These are the guys I post for.
Well said, woodz...as usual.

Hopefully, any TM or FOS or whatever, is keen enough to recognize brown-nosing and has enough self-respect to not be persuaded into rewarding this type of behavior.

Your kidding... the count on it . Yes, they recognize it but the count on it. They bend over backwards to please management till they accident out or burn out. Steady , consistent hard work makes a good Ltl driver .

Working hard is not how senior employees "rightfully get" anything. Senior drivers enjoy their benefits mainly from being loyal employees, but don't mistake loyalty for anything other than what it is. Loyalty is not productivity, safety, or good work ethic. It's little more than a guy showing up to work on time and staying with the company for a long time. Whether or not he's a solid employee or a 10 percenter has nothing to do with his time in service. Union shops do not benefit those employees who are driven to be better than their job description, union shops encourage conformity, sameness, and in worse case scenarios....mediocrity. We've heard so much about how YRC's management is what has driven the company into the ground and certainly there is some truth to that, but other than it's driver's being forced to take concessions, what have any of those drivers done, above and beyond their job description to make the company better? It's a rhetorical question, but I think you get my drift. What you refer to as "brown nosing" in the negative, I refer to as "taking the initiative" in the positive.

Mediocrity is so prevalent here as well too...wanna seee things improve? Give all employees evaluation based raises...quit paying all these long long tenured employees the same rate as a 3 year man. That'll boost everyone's output.

So you are saying at XPH some of bottom and mid-level employees are getting their Job section and vacation picks over senior drivers.

What reply were you expecting to get? Didn't you know anyone that votes NO for the union is an ass kisser, company cheerleader, scab, or any other name they want to call you. Didn't you learn anything from the 2016 election you deplorable. This is what it has come down to name calling just because you disagree with them or don't vote the way they want you to.

That is one well written statement. I read it somewhere, it might even be on this thread, that's some said that companies are more profitable when they are union and put out a better product, but when the company fails they blame management. As you see is other post anyone going above and beyond are call ass kisser even in union shops.

You know that is a double edge sword. Some of the long tenured employees might be over paid? I all for a review. lets see were everyone stands. At my barn we have some former union drivers and some of them laziest one we have. There is another one that walks around and has said on many occasion " I been here XX years and they owe me" "I've been here XX years and I deserve that run/truck/forklift." He's been in the TM office so many time he keeps tissue on his desk for him. He also a former CF employee
