The local side of the company screams loudly and often about road driver income. There seems to be a movement towards making pay equal. When that happens, it will be interesting to see how they get people to sign up for a job that can lock them into working shuttles until they retire.

I remember a couple years ago we had a meeting about cost. The MD made a comment about line haul cost how it was our biggest expense. Why in the heck wouldn’t it be along with P&D and dock that’s what we do we move freight with drivers and dock workers. In my opinion we could get rid off some of the Corp crap.

We need to start paying attention one year will pass quickly and we will all be right back here with the same issues if not worse. I don’t know what the answer is but it needs to start trending in the favor of drivers.

I also remember (I think it was 08) that we didn’t get a raise while lower management took a 5% pay cut and upper management took either a 10 or 15% pay cut....and they have yet to recoup their raise, so yes, it could be worse!!

But why does it need to be bad at all? We are still operation under the tax reduction?!?

My wife’s company gave every employee a $1K bonus check with last year’s tax windfall...this year they’re laying off 2K employees!!

Yeah and were not going through those tuff times you speak of.

Our coworkers have and will soon start receiving the Health & Well-Being News letter. Very surprised how many haven't heard of the changes. I'm sure some will spit out the purple cool aide.
