FedEx Freight | Very Low Frieght

The current internal career opportunities list shows (Company wide) 5 city, 5 road, and 3 apprentice positions. NONE of those openings are for POS.
:scratchhead:

When you go to fedex freight careers and type Pocono Summit you will see openings for driver apprentice. I can't post the link since I don't have enough posts.

Maybe I'm off my engines, but can anyone tell me how does it make any sense to have 15 cdsa's start at noon and few hours later supervisor asks who wants to go home early. However they are currently have 10 openings for driver apprentices. We are being over staffed, but they still feel the need that we need more drivers. I just don't get it. I'm out of Pocono Summit POS.

Some of these drivers haven't seen a truck in months....
Now is not the time of year to over staff, it’s slow & the slow time isn’t here yet. I run that area where your at....Army Depot, J&J, Walmart etc.

Yeah, it's on there. :1036316054:
Was going to apply, just to see where it led. But 30-40 minutes seems like too much to waste.

Driver Apprentice
Estimated completion time: 30-40 minutes.

We greatly value your time and want to provide the best opportunity for you to showcase your strengths.

What seems odd is the fact that it is NOT on the internal posting. My understanding (per policy) is that all openings are to be posted internally 1st, and continue to be available internally until filled.

What we have here is a position (opportunity) being offered to the public, while NOT being offered internally. Houston (Memphis), we have a problem...

Since when does freight use the term courier?
Is this possibility an Express position?

I think that job posting might be EXPRESS from the wording...

Fair question/theory, but actually, it's listed under "Freight".

Again, the interesting (concerning) part is that Most listings from the public site are NOT shown on the internal listing. Exactly opposite of what it should be.

341 jobs publicly available, while only 68 are listed on the "Internal Career Opportunities" list. Several dozen driver jobs (city & road) listed on the public site. Only one dozen listed internally.

What's up with that? :scratchhead:

Most places can't accommodate Dave's hat and they're afraid he'll apply. Who wants to make all those special arrangements?

My guess is they found a loophole and they're using it. The first time I go to a new center my reaction 90% of the time is "this place is awesome, why does my hub suck". They're trying to avoid acquiring they're very own crazy trucker. In my opinion.

Only posted internally for a certain amount of time, prior to it being available externally, note the purge date on the right hand side of the internal postings. Generally 5-10 business days, then it could be available externally for an extended amount of time until filled or expired.

Courier - Driver/ Orange for all OPCOs/ payroll changed/ John Smith talking about Ground and Freight working together...

We’ve seen this before, how soon we forget.

Thanks af. Good info. :1036316054:

So "the list" we see posted is only the new(er) listings. I'd expect all positions are still available internally on the intranet (until filled or expired), using the Job ID? Will check that out.
