Hello everyone!

I'm considering a switch from Fedex Freight to UPS Freight. While Fedex shows a lot more enthusiasm towards the LTL industry, the differences in health care and pension plans are my main reasons. Can someone explain to me, in detail, how the 2 tier pay for drivers works. I remember this being brought up when the last contract was approved but I don't know anything about it. Numbers would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

You want to hire onto to UPS full time Feeder driver stay away from UPS Freight.
While package is hiring feeder drivers off the street where I live, I'm not interested in a 9pm or 10pm start time for the next 10 to 15 years. I know 2 people who started there recently and that's what they're looking at.
UPS Freight seems to be day work in my area for all city drivers including the bottom of the list.
I agree, package is the better place but the schedule is important to my life outside of work and UPS Freight's health insurance and pension offer the improvement I'm looking for.

? There is a two tier wage progression for drivers... if your hired after August 1st 2018 you do not receive the yearly wage increases until you hit progression. You then are at 28.65 or something similar to that and the general wage increases semi yearly until end of contract. People hired prior to August 1 2018 once completion of progression is at top pay equal to everybody who has hit top progression already.
Example.... Joe blow is at top pay for 10 years already... John doe hired on dec of 2018. In December of 2022 John will be at 28.65 and be eligible for the general wage increase of 25cents on January 1st. John will be at 30.35 (28.65 + yearly wage increases) and also be eligible for the 25 cent raise..

Well yeah, they did that in small package last time around as well. Rates stayed static until you went to scale. It's not optimal, but...yeah. Not unprecedented.

Is there a good place to view the whole contract online? Also, how much do you pay for health insurance and how much is the deductible if any?

Has anyone found the contract online with a table of contents?
It sucks going thru the entire contract looking for something.
