There is a big difference between the UAW and the Teamsters Union with LTL trucking. The UAW still wants to be involved with the automotive industry and represent their workers.

The UAW has expanded outside the auto industry, but nowhere near the fervor of the Teamsters in their pursuit of members outside the freight industry.

Unions are a business. Maintaining membership is paramount to survival. While the freight industry is apparently impossible to breech, Teamster representatives have no problem acquiring new members outside the transportation/freight industries.

The UAW will reach a point eventually, where if the do not further expand their industrial focus, their effectiveness will diminish.

The key words in your reply, "Unions are a business". :1036316054:

My Dad’s 1934 That is my avatar followed the hearse in his funeral. We had considered strapping his casket onto it, but were afraid the truck might break down on the drive there, or that the casket might slide off going up Cemetery Hill. It certainly would’ve been a funeral to remember!

When my dad passed, the hearse leaving the church wouldn't start.
Had to find jumper cables for dead battery.
