ODFL | What Are Your Thoughts On The New Eld Tablets

Oh, I was always taught to show a pre and post trip inspection on logs and an inspection anytime switching equipment or if running flat bed within the time frame or miles required.

You definitely don't want to get caught drop and hooking on a 30 or even off duty starting your shift. I'm sure if you forget to switch duty status or it doesn't register the switch it might be different but they've put on memos before about doing stuff off duty.

Guess we'll see what happens with the new eld roll out. Right now I'm still loving my peoplenet and really love the one in my truck being flush mounted with the dash. Now if they could just get rid of the CMS...
With the new system if you forget to switch to on duty from off duty or vice versa you can edit your own logs. You cannot edit drive time on your own.

Maybe now that we are getting the new ELD they can fire up those 8 new tractors with the big red motors in them.Been sitting a few months now.

These tractors must be certified by Billy before being placed in serice.
A call to his office said he has been very busy with mowing operations, he will get to this chore when the Bayliner is put up for winter. ( your patience is appreciated)

Ain’t feeling like using my truck today so I jump in a line truck with one of these fancy logs,, I spent the whole class daydreaming bout trying to count the women I been with before settlin down so I wing it logging in and still gotten it figured out

Exactly.Lot of new equipment sitting and depreciating while making no money for the company.

To be fair I think they expected to be far busier this year than the current state of affairs. Just be glad they have too many, I remember when we didn’t have enough in ATL. It was a royal pain in the ass to sit and wait for a truck to come in, especially when you’d been up all day and were going to have to drive all night.

Has the mowing business slowed down to force you into a comedy career? If so I’d go hustle some more mowing work...

Was talking to an RTO driver in Kettleman City yesterday. They have then already. One thing he mentioned is the taking of lunches and breaks. That may be a California thing though. As BLU does that now with a "reminder" screen. But it sounded like we may be "forced" to take our breaks.

Are you the reason for the penecillin shortage? Don’t be spreading those STD’s around, young man.

My thoughts exactly. If everybody that wants to work IS , then why is the economy so soft or slow. We are slower than most do to pricing, and we are going to stand strong on that we have to build a new trophy room for all of the awards OD is receiving.

This wouldn't be a problem if Billy stopped competing!

So we get our training Monday and Tuesday .None of the trucks have the new units installed. Still just the cradles. Unless the people coming in are installers as well.Don't know. Guess we'll see.

Chico got them 2 weeks ago.I'm guessing they might not be too bad since it sounds like everyone hates them. You know how truckers love change. :omg i gets present by droneguard 1:

You will receive the Tablets after your training. They will connect the tablet's to the tractor then. They connect via wifi to the responder that is mounted inside the dash.
