I have a question, if you are rescued and the driver shows up in a company car , can you drive that car back to the terminal? Or do they have to send another driver for your truck

Dock supervisors try and hold you for freight and telling you to use your 16. Drivers runs are to long if you have to constantly use your 16, I got wrote up for going over my 14 so if I'm getting close and I can see I'm not going to make it ,I'll go get a room. The drivers and dispatch have done it to themselves
Drivers cant do it without the approval of someone. Aka centralDock supervisors try and hold you for freight and telling you to use your 16. We tried that once. Couldn’t keep em. Can’t blame for not wantin to drag heavy pups for 1.10 a mile. All most every extension needed is for less than 30 minutes needed to finish the run.
All this or aleast most of it would go away if Fedex would just let the trucks run 70. But the powers of bean counters rather spend millions of lost revenue and restructure a system they never recover from.
Then they will say we just cant have these long runs. PTs here we come to the rescue
Forget about 70. Not going to happen. XPO turned their trucks back down because of a 30% increase in catastrophic accidents after going from 65 to 70.All most every extension needed is for less than 30 minutes needed to finish the run.

No kidding , I can remember early AF days I had 1 good blade and zip ties.
and it was on the passenger side.
pretty muchi always thought the 16 hour rule was for the driver and not the company

They are going to make them lay down runs to try and fix it... still coving some serious milage... guess it keeps a meet driver from holding another one upso tell me how this is working out with the long bids...
That was also a year with record freight and hiring... newer drivers tend to make more mistakes... there's more to the story than 5 mph. There were also way to many stupid restrictions on that 70mph that required the driver to rely on the truck rather than his own driving abilities. Cruise control had to be used and wipers couldn't.Forget about 70. Not going to happen. XPO turned their trucks back down because of a 30% increase in catastrophic accidents after going from 65 to 70.
