XPO | Water Bill

if XPO does not serve me water served over cracked ice from the glaciers in Antarctica I will feel disrespected. How dare they treat me like that. Folks if you're setting your level of respect at whether or not the company provides you with bottled water might I suggest you aim a little higher. This is almost comical. Provide your own water, drink from a water fountain hell if you're that thirsty drink from a water hose. But to suggest that the company is slighting you because they're not providing you with bottled water... I mean you're just looking for something to gripe about. What a miserable miserable outlook you have to have if this is a serious issue for you.

It’s not small bottled water , they never get that . It’s the big 5 gallon bottles for the cooler /dispenser . There is no water fountain and the water out of faucets isn’t drinkable that’s why the cooler/dispenser is in place

Not sure where you live, but I’m in the PNW. Tap water here is awesome! Can’t imagine not being able to turn the faucet on and be unable to drink from it.

It varies from terminal to terminal . If a facility doesn’t have safe drinking water I think that the company providing good drinking water is at the very least the decent thing to do. I realize some may not feel the that the company is not obligated to do so and their ok with it . Clean drinking water and restrooms are the bare minimum for me. To make me or anyone else seem there are asking to much for this is just plain bullshit.

Call osha. Simple.

This boils down to a making the job attractive to people. If a company can’t supply the basics such as clean restrooms and clean drinking water what makes anyone feel that they will provide anything more attractive to them. Again I don’t think it’s this way at every terminal, so it may be hard for some to know what I’m referring to.
You can run a company at an 80% operating ratio if that’s what it takes to run the stock price up. The cost for employee moral will be high . But hey that’s not really a high priority.

:1904:This mentality is insane... what happened to gainful employment ? Do you work for the sole reason of enriching people who do not give a rats ass for you ? What about your family, time and self respect? It has a value. Without you they are stuck . It’s about a social contract between you and the employer or at least that’s the way it was. You give them your best and in return they treat you decent.
You guys should return your paycheck to Brad Jacobs because that’s ultimately where your heading.:idunno:

Ok , I vented now ... feel much better.

But for real have a little self esteem
The day I feel that they don't give a rats ass about me is the day I leave unlike some will do. We all are here because of our own reasons and other left because of there own reason. If it that bad then leave the door swing both ways

Yes, there's a lot of companies that try and streach out paying bills for 90 days, They want to hang on to the cash as long as possible. Not good business practices , vendors have always had trouble getting paid. I remember many years ago getting the service center phones cut off for non payment.
Isn't that the same thing Con-way did with the 401K money the owned employee??? Didn't they pay that what like only every quarter.

It’s not about being self reliant in my opinion. It’s about decency. Do you think the executive office has bad drinking water , restrooms that are not in working order ? Why should you be treated as less than someone at the home office ? This all stems from lack of respect and cutting budgets so much that facilities are running with Vermin. You guys enable these people to treat you like sh-t . Please if you can’t have enough respect for yourself do it for your fellow worker . Unbelievable!

Maybe fuel for the trucks is your responsibility? Lights on the dock ? Propane for the forklifts ?
It's got to be you region you are in. We have none of the problem you or others are talking about. Yes something takes time to get fixed. I start call higher up why don't you start with Sean Bressler

Yes, that is the era I was referring too.
Vendors would get angry and eventually
Quit service over slow payments.
Seemed like every year the employees
Would loose something , in the way off
Benefits, perks etc . The magic word was unsustainable .
