Amazon don’t need the drivers. They just want the terminals. Well. The land the terminal sits on. And YRC don’t own many of their terminals any more. YRC just restructured it’s executive branch again. They are looking to break even any way they can. Really need to stop losing money. But they were supposed to have gone under 10 years ago. So. Whatever. That popcorn has gone stale. Not interested. It’ll happen when it happens.

Another large company that has lost money or barely made money over the last ten years is Sprint. Draw your own conclusions , but if T-Mobile doesn't buy them they would most likely be more valuable being parted out. Kind of like a wrecked car.

Luring drivers with experience? Lmao! Amazon doesn't want to recruit experienced drivers, they want cheap, inexperienced drivers. They want the drivers that even XPO won't hire. They won't help you or us, they'll only harm us by helping depress thenwage ceiling.

I think Amazon is smart enough to know that they don't want the dregs driving Amazon billboards.

It could very well end up like the oilfields, who paid guys so much just to play in the dirt that LTL had to pay more and still couldn't keep drivers in those areas.

When one of there trucks has a crash in my area the headline reads "Amazon Truck Crashes", Accident Involving Amazon Truck", Crashed Amazon Truck Disrupts Traffic" and it is some contractor just pulling there trailer

Yep, Walmart had the same problem when Swift was pulling WM trailers out of some DCs.

Very interesting piece. I couldn’t sleep the other night so I flipped on the tv. and caught this documentary mid way through at 5:00 in the morning. Next day I watched the whole documentary on YouTube. Amazing to me how Jeff B had the insight back in the 90’s to sell everything in the world to the whole world and is almost there. I’m a firm believer in capitalism and the Puritan work ethic,( and despise socialism), but I think that Jeff B may have crossed the line by giving capitalism a black eye through his corporate greed and thus helping politicians like Sanders to rise up
I sure hope that all the gold rush tech giants that have scaled up to trillions of dollars in value in recent times haven’t planted the seeds for a radical and drastic pivot in the way that our country has done business for a while now.
Keep your fingers crossed ! ! !

We have Driver's that used to Drive there that quit and they say not so great anymore. Insurance sucks ,and you are required to let them have access to your phone if records. They check them against your logs.

Well you a necro-ing a comment from 2016. So..... yeah. Times have changed. A lot has changed.

Yeah, with lower wage employees and contractors. More degradation to the working class. Maybe he can fund some more senseless rocket launches on the back of his workers low wages. Disgusting waste of flaunting his wealth racing other billionaires for no gain other then ego.
Now they predict Amazon will buy out UPS?! REALLY! Why not USPS and Fed X too! Don’t forget about DHL!
