Serious question for you guys and girls.
Got 3 years seniority, 32 people below me.
Things have gotten slow.
I like my job and the people I work with, but , should I start looking for something else or try to struggle through the slowdown and stay here?
Kennasaw Kid, you're trusted here, what do you think?
Unless you are thinking of getting into truckload, or something like Walmart, you might want to look at it a little deeper. All the LTL’s are slow. Going toward the end of the year, you maybe best right where you are. UPS is the only one I know of hiring, and that could slow down after Xmas.

You don't identify what terminal. Or job class.

It's a real plus for us when you come back at the end of the day and still have those new mirrors:biglaugh:

Speaking of mirrors, the year we ran sleepers, my partner and I was southbound through the Baltimore tunnel.
Traffic was both N. & S. bound in the same tunnel, my partner got too close and knocked the right mirror off on our 7400 White.

We always fueled at Transit Truckstop S. of Balt. I knew the guy would sell me a mirror, but no, you buy the whole set or nothing.
I asked him to loan me one, I'd bring one back from Charlotte next trip, again. NO DEAL.
So, me being a nice, quick thinking, individual stole one off his wrecker and headed home.

The way I remember the Kenworth sleepers that Ryder had, were the sleeper bunks were only 18” wide. Not great for big man.

You also froze in those, the ones from PIE were far better trucks than the ones purchased on this side.
BTW, I weighed 250 in those days.

Headed home to Columbia on US 63 in 78 or thereabouts, clipped mirrors with a driver headed the other way. We both got shut down about a half mile apart, nowhere to turn around. We waved at each other and shared the all ok sign. Got a nice cut on my neck, happy to not lose an eye.
