ODFL | 2019 Freightliner

I like the Cummins in my ‘19, but I HATE the adaptive cruise control... it’s more sensitive and obnoxious than on previous models...
I remember. The cruise with the CMS.What a pain.I set it because my legs and knees get stiff sitting for 3 hours. The damn thing senses a car a mile ahead and starts backing you out.Next thing you realize you're doing 60.

Ours will slow you down as soon as it gets a speed reading on the car in front of you that ya gotta be watching the screen for. Gotta floor it and hold when that happens to keep yer speed up til ya pass him.

I have a Detroit in a 2019. I understand from other driver’s that the Cummins are gutless and the engine brake isn’t all that great. Remember though, these boy’s are pulling triples. It’s not Kansas either. There’s a couple of mountain passes. Personally I like my tractor, it does the job. I do wish I had more power though. My engine brake does a great job going down my mountain. Barely touch the brakes. Old School, we were told how to use the transmission, terrain and engine to hold your speed. Billy and some of the other senior drivers can remember that OD never had engine brakes. You young pups would be smoking them brakes all the time.
Got a Cummins in my Penisbilt.

I run a route and do a linehaul run on Saturday, and it does alright as far as pullin. Engine brake ain’t bad. Pullin pups with this beats the hell up outta that gutless bully dog I had before.

I’ll do one better and suggest you be drug tested driver,, ain’t no such thing as clean city truck except those new little ones that are barely driven so far.
Bullsnot.

You can eat off the floor in mine. Some of us take pride in our rides.

Although fortunately I don’t ain’t got nobody drivin it at night.

Backpack ,no socks ,1960's grandpa checkered pattern clothes and they leave circles all over windshield and zero character

Watch your mouth, talking about us 1960 grandpas, my bride dressed me nice as any of the uniform wearing heros of today, all I lacked was pointed toe boots and chain drive wallet.

when you get the eld or switched over to the new system, bring a thick hand towel to cover it up with for when the truck is parked. the tablet is just as sensitive to being left in the direct sunlight as your cell phone and will not work if it is overheated. by the way, i have heard installs have stopped to problems. sure they will get that fixed quickly. they are so much easier to use than the BLU

Been seeing an influx of old 09 tractors. And we've sent some 16s to some of the nearby end of the line terminals. Also have had the shop "decommission" some of the old trucks. There are 4 line trucks and 1 team.We have about 8 new trucks and maybe 4 new team tractors as well .

We don't have training until 1st week of November.
So every morning when I come in there are about 8 extra tractors on the fence. All 09 or Volvo. SMH.
