Me And My Water Heater

sadly, yes...it killed me to raise thier rent, they moved in october of 2007, i did a quick clean up, painting, wallpapering, new (never had a stand alone) water heater, new electrical outlets, 2 new ceiling fans, then in 2009, new gas heating system one for them, one for mom/dad's apartment....so from 2007 till this month..same rent.....

That is a long time to not raise rent.

As I've always said......"We're Truck Drivers.....We can do anything.........Not Well,... but we can do anything..."

Since I've retired,.....my daughter and son-in-law have had me build them a deck,...I've remodeled the kitchen,.....scared the daylights out of my wife, installing windows in the second story,...on borrowed scaffolding...
Ran wiring for my son's swimming pool,.....Put new shocks on my other son's pickup.....

Yup,....We can do Anything,....Just don't ask for a warranty on the "labor"......

You did not retire, you just changed bosses.

That is a long time to not raise rent.
i was following my own rules..."take care of family".......but the way things are now, with the w/c insurance company continually messing with me and the weekly checks, coming later and later, (and yes, my lawyer gets after them), and the bills never ending coming in, enough is enough, i simply cannot absorb the higher costs anymore.

You people actually drive in that stuff?
I'm off to check son's AC.
regarding snow and driving...

when i used to work for Highway Express out of Richmond, VA, the southern boys hated north driving, all year long, let alone winters. too much traffic, or BS they would say..

frankly, to me, the traffic and BS is the same in all 48 contiguous states.

so when they would cry about taking loads up north, i'd say to dispatch, "give them all to me".....

then came to crying on how they were not getting the miles each week...

hey, it's the job, you either drive, or stay on the front porch.

Yep, when those Florida blizzards rolled in, didn't phase me one bit, I'd tell the shop guys,"chain up me a V12 K W, hook er to a set of 45ft'ers and I was off accross those mountain passes Miami bound, down the Sunshine Parkway, Lickety- split.
BTW, this was from Orlando, known as the (snow capitol of the world)

for the Schlitz and giggles of this thread, i went to lowes, where i bought my 2 whirlpool water heaters...

they no longer have whirlpool..

they have AO Smith.......never heard of them.

"they say" made in America......

i did some "quick" google searches and read up on them, apparently many good reviews.

the prices that i saw at lowe's were nearly the same as then whirlpools i had bought.

anyone here have an AO Smith water heater (gas or electric) ...(other than Jeff, he just got his recently) unless @Jeff you have had AO Smith water heaters before?

A O Smith has been around for a long time. I installed one for a friend several years ago.
BTW, Have you ever seen those dark blue colored silos that some farms have? They are made by A O Smith as well.

Pro I think water heaters are like car batteries, there's a ton of brands put only a few manufacturers, and I do think AO is probably one of the biggest making their own and private labels.

I installed a Whirlpool water heater basement several years ago that supplies the house. I recently installed a small A.O.Smith water under the kitchen sink to supply instant hot water to the sink & dishwasher. Both came from Lowes. The first Whirlpool water heater lasted for 25 years. A.O. Smith has in the past marketed quality products. I think the corporate name is A.O. Smith/Inland. The silos are A.O. Smith Harvestore. I don't know how diversified the company is. You have raised my curiosity, it may be a good stock investment.
