1) Unintended/ "unexpected" microsleep last thursday.

BAD BAD BAD BAD BAD
Admittedly the few times it happened before (both pre upsf and currently), i was VERY tired and struggling to stay awake so it was not so "unexpected." And during those times i would likely find a place to pull over and sleep, or was in the process of doing so.

However, last thurs morning, i was feeling "just fine," but it still happened; If you could imagine your computer screen just going down, for a sec, then coming right back up, that is what it was like, sort of.

After thinking about it, i realized that i had only gotten about 5 hours of sleep during the day (thurs) before coming on duty. And, while i got 8 hours the previous day, perhaps that sleep wasn't as high-quality as i thought? (likely so, compared to nightime sleep?)

So, while i physically felt "just fine," and not sleepy (so i thought), i was really tired without realizing it?

i feel that the only real way to cure tiredness/sleepiness is to get sleep. So, friday i pulled over(this was AFTER i left the hub) and napped for about 3 hours even though i was not struggling to stay awake. Although apparently i WAS tired if i was able to sleep for 3 hours....... Only waking up due to alarm because if i had slept more, then i would have run out of the 16 hours available.

We MUST to continue to discuss this very important topic in depth! This was VERY FRIGHTENING because, as i said, i DID NOT feel sleepy at all when it happened!!! This was the first, and hopefully last, time this has ever happened to me.

2) Have not had to sleep in a hotel for over 2 weeks, but perhaps this is not such a good thing after all (see above)?
Not exactly sure what you’re asking. But if you’re a night line driver SLEEP DURING THE DAY. Too many guys won’t accept their schedule. “I stay up all day Saturday”. Sleeping in the rest areas Friday (only) nights. I’m a bag of ::shit:: if I’m up between noon & 15:00. I work 18:30-6:30 M-F and do my best to get 7+ EVERY workday. No exceptions in the winter. Just playing with fire.

You are out to lunch. I've followed your posts on this site and others , Russian rabbit, this is something that is part and parcel of this industry and you just deal with it. It's called being self aware . Personally my drowsy time is 0530 to 0600, regardless of how much or how little sleep I've had. Best advice is to suck it up and hit Pilots coffee bar and quit worrying about driving a suburban. Chevy sucks the government teat anyway. You sound like a damned entitled millennial .

This illustrates what you could make doing niteliner bullplop weekly (had to sub in for someone).
i thought i would enjoy dockwork--it was fun the first two nights, but i'd really rather drive..... i think i would enjoy outbound dock more. Not dockwork in the middle of the night.

2) Correction: There are two bishes in the whole company that i don't particularly care for. i love everyone else in the company including all the men. Well, actually that's not true either..........."general mills"/Cal Ripken lookalike......
So, 3 people total: 2 know-it--all bishes, and one know-it-all a-hole.

Not good.

i've switched to city and am working more---worked the whole week this past week.

Really not sure what is going on with linehaul and don't give a plop either.

Hey... If I could have done that at ABF, I would have.

Oh wait, I could have. I would have just had to quit and be rehired. Lol so in other words, I couldn't.

1) This was a combination of linehaul one night and city the other 4 days. So, not too bad.
i am, however, now on niteliner bullplop for reasons that are too complex to get into right now.

2) As you may or may not know, this was a very dark week for us as a company---and i suspect, but can't confirm possible negative ramifications spilling back over into linehaul. If we could please withhold comments on this until next week, until i can confirm it, i would appreciate it.

Wth are you talking about.

This is probably NOT a good indication of what you could make doing nitelliner bullplop; i take my time coming back from lunch if you know what i mean?

2) The toyota forklifts ride smooth compared to the nissans though.

Well, we've been having too many accidents lately. But i'm sorry, i still can't get into until probably next week. This is when my suspicions may be confirmed regarding linehaul and it isn't good.

i mean we had that bad one near birmingham a few weeks ago, then another last week here in the northeast. As well as many others i'm not totally clear on.

Not much to report here. As i mentioned before, it can vary how much you can make doing niteliner bullplop-----work a little more on the dock or when it's time to hookup, have more difficulty finding trailers and thus taking longer to hookup = higher pay. You can actually make much more doing niteliner bullplop, but i don't give a crap---i just wanted to get thru the week.

i've come to the conclusion that dockwork is actually less strenuous than walking. Yet, i don't like nightime dockwork for some reason.....

2) Still can't comment on the, likely negative, linehaul ramifications. Please be patient. Thanks.

UPDATE:

Ok, we're all cool regarding the whole linehaul thing: i thought there was a problem company-wide, but we're all cool now. Not that it makes much of a difference now, since i'm switching back to city.

Please forget i even brought it up.

2) What is NOT cool, however is the lame YTD totals so far. i'm unlikely to break 80K. This is pitiful:
