Has anybody applied for a new job and seen what FedEx Freight sends in a "Inquiry to Past Employers" request for employment history.

Just looking for the facts not what you think is sent. If you have seen a report let me know.

I am asking about incidents and accidents preventable.
I called and asked (HR) what would be supplied and was told only DOT reported accidents would be supplied to an inquiry from another company.

I have a 2 incidents, and I think one might be recorded as a preventable.
Thinking about applying to the city for a government job and just want to know if a unreported DOT preventable would be on the FedEx Freight information supplied to an inquiry??

I’m pretty sure by law they can only verify employment dates....the rest can be found by pulling ones MVR since any CSA points you’ve accured follow you from one employer to another.

Like removing an overhead door at a shipper , repositioning a car parked near a dock all intercompany business only
Like whatever....I'm just saying....not all accidents and or incidents...are D.O.T Reportable......theres certain criteria that make it D.O.T Reportable....i.e.....a vehicle gets towed....i.e......somebody gets injured......and more...

They can ask anything they want, past employer can say what ever is "true". Generally that is confined to dates of employment, job title and description, any training they provided, and the reason for the separation. Most play it legally safe and keep it to that. But in the "secret language" of H R the big answer is, "are they eligible for rehire?"

FedEx does not report to DAC, nor do they pull during hiring.

Incidents that happen in the yard or customer property won't be reported, accidents that don't result in a person being injured, vehicle being towed or a person dying won't be reported by the company.

FedEx only reports what is required of them lawfully, to help mitigate risk of a lawsuit against them. Marking incidents and small accidents as preventable is a FedEx process, not a FMCSA process.

most companies supply dates of employment, DOT reportable accidents ( at fault or not) and Drug testing info- have you failed a random, did you do SAP if you did, did a previous employer report a failed drug test to them. The drug test questions are mandated by DOT law. In 3 years they won’t have to ask that with the clearinghouse. As of 1/1/20 if you have a pre-employment or random failure that will have to report to the clearinghouse. Any companies that want to hire after that date have to check you in the clearinghouse ( you have to give permission) in order to hire a DOT driver . If you are not registered the possible job interest will not be able to process you till you register and give that company permission to check your name/lic number . As for any other info, all companies try and get as much as they can, some companies give more , some only what’s required y law.
