This is my first winter at FedEx. The guys with experience told me to keep a bag packed in my car to take with me in case I get stranded. In my bag I have

A blanket
Gloves
Socks
Underwear
Canned food with a spoon
Nature valley bars

In my cooler I have bottled water and my lunch for that day. I also have a credit card just in case i get stuck at a hotel outside of the network.

Am I missing anything?

Stocking cap & fire source this time of year (depending on your locale). OTC meds (aspiring, cold, Pepto) year round. Add fuses & few basic tools to your zip ties.

Big Dave maybe should get this guy a gold hotel? He will need a walk in sleeper, with storage shelves, a shower, and kitchen, to carry all the emergency supplies...

...and a Glock

I keep a Taurus in the car, is that good enough?

Sir, I am a company man. FedEx says I cannot make any repairs to vehicles. They call that tampering. So if they want to pay delay pay and have somebody come to me to change a fuse, so be it.

Can you carry extra O-rings for the glad hands? Or is that tampering too?

I'm an XPO driver. A lot of times these things come up missing for whatever reason.

Technically, it's all tampering but I carry a bunch of rings and change them as needed. It's one of those CYA policies.

PIE was always glad to pay us for replacing a gladhand gasket, wiper blade or wire a pigtail between pups.
It was a lot cheaper than sending out a vender, we were on the clock less time.

I had an inflatable gal the year we ran sleepers, safety man said he got 2 phone calls, asking when PIE started hiring female drivers.
She had her own chauffers cap.
Kuehnle Brothers, a tanker outfit of NE Ohio has a mannequin in their guardhouse wearin nuthin but a cap and a smile! Used to see her when they'd need a lease tank wagon once in a while.
