All the supervisors and SCM are not responding. Anyone know of any late starts, closings, or business as usual in their areas in the path of this storm?

Haven’t seen anything in Ma. More snow later through Tuesday am. I think Ct will be a mess tonight if we run linehaul.

They are running day line haul to and from MA.

We are working. Kind of surprised, roads are still looking like garbage and it will snow until late tonight.

Screw it, right? Freights more important than us.

Nothing on this truck is worth driving in this slop. It's not worth a single life or an accident. Anybody who thinks freight is more important than us, the drivers or the public at large, really needs to sit down and think about exactly how they rank their priorities because they got em all screwed up.

Spoken like a :shit:ty terminal manager.

I don't think I have ever seen a painter working in the snow.

Paint supervisor: Hey paint the face of that balcony. All we have today are slippery ladders.

Painter: but the entire ladder is covered with grease. It's too dangerous.

Paint supervisor: You signed up to service the customer! Guess what you do when you paint??? Guess what you do when you hire on as a truck driver???

If you fall off the ladder and get hurt , no painting gets done. If you fall off and tear up the equipment and/or spill the paint , no painting gets done.

Same thing in truck driving. Crash - no freight gets moved. Get hurt - no freight gets moved. Hurt someone - no freight gets moved.

Both cases of not being safe the customer doesn't get served.

Guess what you do when you sign up as a First-Responder? You pull bodies out of sausage-grinder truck accidents that shouldn’t be on the road in the first place with weather and road conditions as they currently are. That freight doesn’t do anyone any good in a ditch on the side of a road with a dead driver at the wheel. If the SCM’s and Linehaul dispatchers want that freight to move that badly, they can climb behind the wheel themselves.

When you tell them its too dangerous to run they get so insulted and try to lay a guilt trip on you ,i can imagine the drivers sitting in prison for manslaughter must wish they didnt let supervisor intimidate them to run

From what I have been told back in the day CCX would have told there drivers you have two choices. 1 Take the load or 2. Go home but don't worry about coming back. Years ago I seen city driver with chains on making deliveries while the rest of us didn't even leave the yard.
I saw this and thought of CCX all you have to do is change the Swift driver lead to CCX dispatcher
