All employers have a social media policy, Your identity is UNKNOWN on Truckingboards unless you reveal it somehow yourself. When you post to Facebook Trucking Groups, everybody knows your name. Think about it.

i cannot recall ever giving out my real first, middle or last names.

but given that (say for instance) my first name is only that, it does not really ID me without my last name. (or maybe it does) , if i were to mention an employer.

I learned THAT lesson, by watching rummy's mouth off at some websites, up to the point of pics of thier tractor, complete WITH company name and truck number!!!!!!

yeah...how freaking stupid is that..??

at one website that I also frequent, a particular driver not only would bad mouth hie employer, but also added pics of his hand guns, knives, and numb-chucks?

of course in time, others at that other site, started sending emails to his company, especially when he boasted about his driving antics, and again, having this time...VIDEOS of him committing those dangerous "stunts".

several people at the other website, PK'd me that they emailed his company to report him, and they were told, they will monitor his posts.

and they did, then he got canned.

funny too, he "cried" on the website that he got fired for no good reason...!!!

many at the other site, (including me) were dancing behind our respective online devices, that an unsafe, weapon carrying moron was removed.

whether or not he even got another job, i do not know, and any "friends" he had over there, haven't mentioned anything either.

but in the end, YES, some have to name, names for whatever reason, which to me, is only to be able to give thier "followers" something to read..???

i dunno, good riddance when someone does that.

I have always posted exactly what I would say to anyone’s face.....or to my employer.
I have been identified by my former employer..........and threatened.

The “threat” was merely that.......If I had said something that crossed a.....legal.....line....there would’ve been no threat......I would’ve been fired out of hand.

Many guys don’t understand what you can or can’t say,....and think that perceived anonymity.........hides all “crimes”...

It does not.

And......the guideline should be......you don’t say ANYTHING that you wouldn’t say out loud,.....in front of your employer......your wife....children......friends......

That way.......if your “anonymity” is compromised.......(and it will be....)......
You will be able to take responsibility for everything you say....
.....or type.....
 
Now don't get me wrong, if the authorities or the government orders me to hand over any info I would HAVE to do it because I don't have the kind of money it would take to fight it. Pretty sure they could just go to the host and get the keys to the server without my knowledge anyway.
Everybody knows me and my name, On my social media like FB I don't list where I work and never post anything about where I work.
When I first started this website, people were so wary of it because they though I was a plant for trucking companies but now they will FREELY post anything with their name attached to social media.

The only info I have on a user is
1- their IP and it may or may not even be their ip
2- an email address

The database is totally encrypted by the software maker, I cannot even tell you your password, I can only change it.
I cannot read anyones Private Messages in any way shape or form they are encrypted in the database as well.

But,...like I always point out,....most of us are truck drivers,.....and the Ol' CB Rules apply........
If you're being a "Rambo" in the back of the parking lot,.........and someone catches you and identifies your truck......

You're no longer...."anonymous".....And you got to own up to all the Trash you been talking.........
 
I have 3 Facebook accounts with different IP addresses .... I only have one with my name, pictures of friends and family and I would never use that one to comment about my company. You need only common sense to stay out of trouble with your company. Unfortunately some have no common sense and they get what they deserve. Of course now that I’m retired I really don’t give a ::shit:: what they see. So SAIA can go **** themselves because I can’t stand those bastards now. They have backstabbed enough good people to last a lifetime. They pay well but selling your soul to the devil made it not worth it to me any longer. That’s just one of the reasons I retired early. I’m happier than I’ve ever been in my life and one of the biggest reasons is because I kicked them to the curb before they had a chance to kick me. They are as EVIL as they come and could care less about destroying lives. They are the least driver friendly company I ever worked for. And that says a lot.

Your Super Duper T.V. along with your talking Oven, Refrigerator and Front Door "security" Camera have recorded Your Facial aspects (what else is important?) and of everyone else in your abode including visitors and dutifully sent the info to the Forlorn Batch of Incompetence.
Your Vehicles' interior and exterior Cameras have applied the same technology against you, therefore whatever you say about ANY website or ANYTHING whether at Home or Vehicle (or truckstop, diner, carwash, doctor, you get the point) will be recorded and stored until whenever WE decide it's useful.

WE KNOW WHO YOU ARE, WHERE YOU LIVE AND WHY YOU'RE HERE.
WHATEVER YOU SAY OR DO IS BEING RECORDED EVEN IF YOU'RE IN YOUR OFFICE, UNDER YOUR DESK, WHIMPERING.
