According to the Yahoo article "Ultimately, the decision on whether to sell FedEx will be heavily influenced by Smith. He holds an outsized presence at FedEx for obvious reasons. Smith also owns about 7.5% of FedEx’s outstanding shares."

Yeah, I saw that. So apparently Smith's shares make up the super majority of the "7.72% % of Shares Held by All Insiders". I wonder if any other single institutional entity owns more.

I'm still not convinced that the decision would be his to make. Influence? Yes, certainly. Dictate absolutely? I Don't think so... Although, I DO HOPE/WISH that he would have the final say. I think we're better served with him, rather than some investment firm.

Looks like the revised, and more accurate Breakdown should look something like this:

Maybe XPO would buy?
Bradley would finally get planes, scale up LTL and complement home delivery with package delivery.

Never UPS.. the DOJ would block it 100%.

It's not looking good!

FedEx Freight revenue fell 4%. FedEx's operations are built for growth and the declining scale was painful. Operating income of $554 million fell over 50% Y/Y, while operating income margin declined by over 350 basis points.
