XPO | Trailer Maintenance?

When this flavor of the week came out I said it is a band aid. FOS should be walking dock and supervising and sitting at his desk looking at computer screen. The company needs to go to route cause of issue. Not enough training of dockworkers in loading of freight.

What ? They saw the 10 minute video. Good to go.

maybe we should do it the A Duie Pyle way ... a friend who started there about 2 months ago called tonight. . Said they don’t double stack anything . No load bars giving away with freight falling and getting damaged or damaging what it lands on . No bars falling on anyone’s head . Rarely does a driver do dock work , and he really loves NO DRIVER FACING CAMERA ! He does say he misses the time and a half after 8 ! Other then that he’s a happy camper !

More and more. It’s becoming very clear that drivers are not happy here and are happier over there. And seems to matter less and less where over there is any more.

Laying in a massive pile between two doors. Started out as one or two and became fifty or more.
Nah. They get picked up at the end of the night and hung on the board. First thing I do when I start loading an empty. Clean it out, hang the straps and push up/hold up the bars with strap clips. My latest pet peeve is re-stacking all the crap plywood instead of putting it in the dumpster. I’ll train em’on that next lol. I have to say that everything I do now is to make MY job easier. Just the way I like to work.

I like it when I get a chance to run out and sweep my trailer before they load it. Makes my day a lot easier. And if I want straps in the trailer. I'll need to drive into the pile and pick them out.

You can’t worry about anything anymore. Don’t sweat it. The last day I ran before Christmas, the magic box diverted a bunch of freight for some unknown reason. I had a 1/2 trailer of space left. Fos said he was told not to move diverted freight, follow the plan. Shrugged my shoulders, and shut it down. Stop thinking about it, and just do what they want. It’s not going to change, and it’s not worth worrying about.

Exactly. This is an organized reduction in service and freight. This is our reality.

It's still tough to watch on some level ( if you've been here for awhile )

As others have pointed out , you are kind of backed into a corner of doing the wrong thing. Somehow , not doing the right thing equals better numbers in the short term. Over time you know it will come back and bite the rip-and-strip management in the ass.

Anyhow , Happy New Year to one and all! Hopefully safe and healthy travels to the folks that keep things going behind the scenes but rarely get the credit.

That’s what the zero load defect procedure is. Everything on deck needs to be strapped to wall. So loading will take forever because you have to find skid about same height with the straps placement
All I know is skids didn't slide that easily until we started using plastic deck boards.
