First of all when you retire you don't recieve health insurance with the union. You have to be a active working member to get the free health insurance. And if new Penn some day becomes yrc regional we will receive the same benefits. as we would still be in the same union with the same contract.

I guess my wording was wrong as a retired employee of New Penn we have been able to purchase insurance with the union from what rumors are saying if the name New Penn is dropped and the name becomes YRC regional we would lose that benefit. Just wondering what the heck is going on!

Normally I never post here on NewPenn but I can add to the conservation by telling ya that I stayed on my unions health insurance for a year till I turned 65 .The union deducted a portion taken out of my retirees check and the same for my wife's insurance till she turned 65. 705 IBT.
The union will cary ya till ya turn 65 here in Chicago but at a monthly cost .

That's not true. There are regions that get union health insurance after retirement for a reduced monthly cost. Sucks Philly doesn't get it.

You can actually purchase insurance through the union but only if you had 20 years of service in
