So what happened, what’s going on? Any good rumors? Will this force them to install tablets in everything immediately? I’ll be the first to admit I’m not sharp enough yet to do any of this “editing” and logging as I go via the website. I’m doing paper logs currently. Is it true that no one at the terminals “can” go in and edit things like they used to ? I have no problem using the company provided tablets or Peoplenet units or a paper log book to do my HOS. However I will be quite frank and admit that I feel it isn’t my responsibility to have to use my personal time and resources to go in and attempt to use a system that we have no training on to show records of my HOS. It isn’t the labor force’s fault that the company hasn’t provided ample equipment to comply with the regulations currently in place. I find it odd that Estes was years ahead of the mandate with the original electronic logs they installed but just barely got the ELD system installed company wide within a matter of days before the cutoff. Now, nearly a system wide failure of hardware has taken place. Someone has really dropped the ball on this one. I guess it’s Y2K, about 20 years late to the party.

FIGURE OUT HOW TO DO IT ON YOUR PHONE AS QUICKLY AS POSSIBLE!!! You can log on your phone. Don’t cheat and it will save you a lot of headache!!!! It’s time consuming but well worth it. We’ve ALL gone through this the last few days but enter everything on your phone as you go along like you were on your device. It’s a pain in the ass if you let it back up through a few duty statuses.

Would having access to them online through your phone count? Or do they have to be hard copies ? I feel like this entire fiasco is one big gray area. Again, we have been given zero training for this online portal. I should not have to use anything other than company provided equipment that I have been properly trained on to comply with the Hos.

I can’t help but agree. Were all on a grid anyway. People know when you go to sleep now. C-pap monitored,,,,buy gas monitored,,, haz mat endorsement (fingerprints),, do something stupid (were on video),,, carry permits (good god,,, colonic exam) IF YOUR LEGAL.

Safety man out west said accessing your logs on your phone counts as having 7 days worth of logs, if the trooper wants copies you can email him. Again, this came straight from the safety man's mouth and is legal.

Move to the interior of Alaska. None of the above mentioned is watching or listening. You do have though the Key Hole Satellites and their orbit does cross over Alaska. But sadly I believe you haven't reached the pay grade needed to re-task the bird to check and see if you shaved this morning. And remember, other than thermal, they can't see shi* thru the cloud cover. Hope this helps. Von.
