Holland | Xpo Up For Sale And Buyers Are ??

XPO operates many logistics, and supply chain warehouses in different countries, and the US. Jacobs said in the article that the LTL would not be sold. But for the right price, we’ll you never know.
YRCW-HRNY-XPO ???

Most of their (supply chains) are sold to tow trucks.

Yep, anything is for sale for right price , just look at history of Roadway & USF Holland !!

Jacobs---if you all join the union--- I will sell it!
I must have misread the article, I got the impression Jacobs was going to sell the other divisions of X PO like Europe and put his emphasis on the Conway part and kick everyone's a ss! Did anybody else read that into it?

He said he did not rule out selling everything for the RIGHT PRICE , its is all about the money period !!

This line in the article.....is an outright falsehood.
'XPO has revived a once-inefficient LTL operation. Today, the unit’s operating ratio — the ratio of expenses to revenues — sits at its best levels in decades."
While it's true our OR is the lowest it's ever been, it's because of Jacobs slash and burn tactics when it comes to less maintenance, less rolling stock purchases, and lay-offs. Efficiency is not what it was when we were CCX or Con-way, it's worse. Our outbound operations are fencing freight every night, we never did that before. Come end of the month, we're missing pickups because we don't have the coverage due to lack of drivers and sidelined power units. I could go on, but you get the idea.

Not to add insult to injury but I was talking with an XPO driver at one of my regular customers. He was relatively new to LTL but long time driver. Left a decent gig at a regional refer outfit at 55-60 hours a week at 22.50 per hour to come to XPO. He was upset as he was only getting 34-40 hours a week max. We chatted about how LTL slows , etc, and talk turned to equipment. He was pulling a rebranded Conway box with a Sterling. He was not happy and I was trying to tell him to hang in there. He said that a regional safety guy showed up at their barn and was giving them refresher training in fifth wheel pretrips as there had been a sharp increase in dropped wagons. The driver said the other guys were complaining the bad hook issue was due to lack of maintainance and confronted safety guy about it. Safety guy denied it and said it was driver error and had nothing to do with age or wear on equipment. Supposedly this was company wide campaign. Hear anything like this? I just met this guy and I have a hard time believing he would make up such a story to bash XPO over something as narrow as fifth wheel issues.

There are many forums to find info on the XPO situation. Basically. Zero money spent on anything. Sell everything and lease it all. Strip it down to nothing. This business doesn't actually own stuff. Just a really fancy computer driven broker. I feel sorry for that guy. He needs to find another wheel.

yep, I got knocked down a few spots on the seniority board when good ole ABF bought Carolina...who would have (thunk) it?
I still don't understand how the dovetailing came to be. As I understood it, ABF purchased CFCC outright. In that scenario the CFCC guys should have gone to the bottom of the boards. It's the same with that last strike, we worked through it, I believe we were the only Union carrier to do so. I know the rampant speculation was we were going to be purchased by UPS. I was in Toledo at the time and was WAAAYY down the seniority board and had no chance of staying on. Didn't worry too much at the time, I was young and just moved on.
