Recently here in Charlotte a bid run came available. A lot of pple bidded on this ring including myself. Only one person had more seniority than me,but he scratched his name out to remain on his run. I was next senior man.

How is it that a guy below me on the extraboard get this bid run instead of me. We're both Tuesday starts. I'm number 2 and he is number 3??

Just need help with clarification.
Central dispatch couldn't help. I guess my next inquiry will the Terminal Manager and then Corporate!!

Any info will help.

Yeah ask your TM. If you’re sure you have more linehaul time than the other guy, it could be just a mistake.

Just a word of caution, the 2 or 3 at the end of your extraboard number doesn’t mean anything. So x010t2 doesn’t mean you have more seniority than x010t3. I was the top extraboard guy at my terminal years ago and was S7.

It could be that the driver in question was a combo driver who moved to extraboard, became a Tuesday start after you so he got a later number than you, and then 90 days later got his combo time added in so now he has more seniority. Your TM should be able to explain it to you. Again it could just be a mistake.

We’re having our annual bid in a couple of weeks anyway so there’s that...

Your terminal manager, or linehaul supervisor if you have one, should have been the first person you talk to. Central has nothing to do with bids and who gets what.

As was pointed out, your start day and position on that day has nothing to do who is a senior driver. The most senior driver on the XB could bid to be the last driver out on Wednesday if he wanted.
