That is correct. Those tractors had Cummins power & were very difficult to shift till they were half worn out. I don't remember if it was the transmission top shift rails or the shift boot & odd shift lever that made them so stiff. There was a lot of trouble with the wiring on those tractors also.
ABF bought both International & White tractors that year. The Internationals actually gave less mechanical trouble.
As I remember they had White badges instead of Volvo.
Cummins had trouble about that time with cam bearings turning in the block & for some reason the White tractor engines were much worse than the Internationals. Probably due to the date the engines were assembled. I think the problem was traced to the machines that cut the blocks for cam bearings.
Those look like the Memphis drivers They always pointed there antennas way forward. They also wore sometimes suit and ties at 511. They were the last of the real drivers that I know that dressed like that. Sorry Big R Guy no flip flops or tank tops here
