FedEx Freight | Phx

Would this new terminal be an addition or a replacement to the 2 terminal in PHX.

Any ideas as to how many doors and timeframe.

So North Phoenix will now be located to the south of PHX?
We were told that after the new yard opens, the lower buckeye site will be rehabilitated. Needs expansion and new drainage system. Possible addition of doors. Once that construction is done, North Phoenix will move to lower buckeye, and North Phoenix will be closed. Then a Change of Operations will take place to realign personnel.

Rumors that senior city folks will be allowed to move on the change to Road have already been debunked. You will be allowed to move and dove tail in current work group. If you're city, you can move with seniority as a city driver. If you're road, likewise. You can't carry seniority across work groups.

I was just joking that the “north” barn won’t be to the north anymore, but that’s interesting stuff to know.

I don’t work in that area but I know someone who does and I always thought it was odd having a large hub crammed into a ~120 door barn, with the slightly smaller NPX located only 3 miles away.

Which is the better center to work at as a city driver and which do you work at? I'm considering a transfer to PHX early 2021. Not sure how it will go but I might as well find out what I can.

This wouldn’t be a surprise...in Atlanta, NEA (North East ATL) is actually located on the North West side of town, NWA (North West ATL) is located on the South West side, and SWA (South West ATL) is located on the South East side 1/2 mile down the road from ATL P which is also on the South East side...go figure :idunno:

NEA is actually in the North East of town and NWA is in the North West. SWA is the directionally impaired center.
