ODFL | Leave the phone alone

With big brother…do they really not think this is going to create a huge shortage of drivers company wide?! It all sounds good for the office and managers cause they dont have a clue how it is. What if they had cameras watching their every move to make sure they never messed with their phones or etc. I use my gps a lot in the city so i can figure what i need to do or call customers to give an eta. All that will stop on day 1. We are pushed against the clock so much as it is now. Someones going to have to pick up the slack. Itll be thrown on the ones left and go from 8-14 stops to 14-20 everyday.

It's going to be a nightmare for the drivers. I already left the company and the cameras were a large factor in my decision to leave. To many other companies out there begging you to come drive for them without big brother involved. I went out and bought my own truck... I am sick of the last 15 years of micro management.
If u dont mind me asking..whered u decide to go to? Stay in ltl or even driving still? Just curious cause when they come here…id consider it but im worried about the big loss in wages. Drivers outside of ltl here seem to get paid 30k yr which would be very tough to survive.

So you are a city guy,who needs a gps to find his way, calls customers to give an ETA, thinks OD will be screwed if you can’t use your phone, and will have to find other employment because of cameras? As long as you can’t live without your phone, maybe call the FMCSA,and tell them?

U would understand what im saying if u ran city. Most of these residentials we go to dont have street names and therefore going to gps which has street names listed there. It would be a real pain to find somewhere to pull over up a one lane road to bring this up..if u even still have signal at that point.

Did P&D in the 70's & 80's long before there were cell phones/GPS. Bought Hagstrom's Street Atlases for the counties I worked.
