Look at how much bigger Big Macs used to be

There is a little McDonalds on highway 64 in El Paso and we stopped in there for a burger etc. It was a long day in the car and food was welcome from any source.

The burgers they assembled to order had buns that were half what I remembered them to be from the 70s era or even smaller than what I recalled from trucking days. Overly expensive too.

The table and chairs we sat at were undersized. Not necessary a comfort place to sit and eat a meal. You were encouraged in a number of ways to bag the food, throw down too much money and GTFO.

That was 10 years ago. We have not eaten at a McDees since. There was a bowling alley grill in either Conway, Maumelle or the VA hospital in downtown little rock (Pre Covid) where you can just fill two plates with food and take home doggie bags and thats dinner and breakfast into the next morning.

Fast forward to last week, we ordered two full subs with max cheese and bacon toasted foot longs and all the trimmings. 40.00 please (After taxes)

Thats the last of that. I can spend that in various supplies at the amish store when in season and make several of those subs at home which is what will happen going into winter now. Subway has run it's course and needs to go out of business. 30 to 50 years worth of sandwiches at those prices? Come on man.

Street food trucks is the next big plan. I remembered what Philly did with their street food trucks for 10.00 and eat for a week almost. We are going over some of the newer trucks that have set up locally (Meaning 60 miles of Little Rock) to where its still possible to get a proper working man's meal.

The only hope and last resort for me would be the roach coachers. If I can find one running around early in the morning. We have been losing our industrial areas slowly and steadily putting them out of work.

At one time in my prime when I played football in high school and college I was able to eat 8 Big Macs.

I don’t get it…..got any pictures to prove your point??
