I have no business on your forums ... I'm surfing and just trying to understand ... Do you realize there are over 1700 jobs and 100 terminals on the line between Freight and National? Do you even care who is going to lose a job here? I am just trying to understand your train of thought. Do you have some sort of support system for those who will no doubt be put on unemployment and forced to find another job?... Do you senior guys/gals even care about the juniors? The holidays are coming for Peters sake ... KAPISCH?

What exactly do you expect anyone to do? Have a new Revolution against this outrageous tyranny?

Hell ,most people don't even know that that is what is truly going on here. And unlike the founders ,each man is on his own, in this new world order we have. We will hang as individuals, not a unified group.

Kneel down to your new masters and kiss their feet. This goes way past losing a job, WD.

We will no longer be a free nation if this treason is allowed to continue much longer. May God help us all.

the 1700 nat people losing their jobs you speak of are management at duplicate centers. My understanding is that in most of these situations they took freight over nat management because of Lakeland managements resistence to do things as they were told. They had become an albatross and were sinking both companies. As usual middle managers and producing employees take the hit. We are projected to lose over 100 drivers and other employees between the 2 companies in the Mem area. I just hope most land on their feet. Companies have to make tough decisions like this from time to time. I myself am not crazy about it, but have to hope that it works out in the long run.

WD if memory serves me right your YRC. I don't think you should be over here at our house stirring up anymore hard feelings, we've got enough of that already.

Yeah over 500 people in Lakeland, FL are losing their job but almost all of them are not drivers but I feel for them more because it is easier to find a job driving a truck. If you are a Manager, Supervisor, or even a Dispatcher imagine how hard it is going to be on them in this economy. I have been driving since 1995 and I have had a lot of jobs this being the best by far no matter how bad you think this company is it is the best truck driving company out there. If you don't think it is go somewhere else and we will see you back in a year or two trying to get back on.

:LMAO:Sorry ranger..Just got a vision of Joan Biaz....

He said, "between the two companies". We're not sure what the exact break down will be, but the bottom line is, it doesn't matter, a lost job is a lost job. I work at freight, but I've got friends at both places, (not just friendly acquaintances, but actual friends).

With regards to WD's insinuation, well, all I can say is, insulting us as a group will not fulfill your desire to increase union membership, it is very bad form on your part driver, and your right, you don't have a dog in this fight.

The older guys here do care about the younger ones. Unlike Y.R.C. . You would be suprised how many guys are stepping down to give younger guys a chance to raise a family. This company has good people working for it. Now I understand why the senior guys at Y.R.C won't quit. They are waiting to get there pension and pay back to scale. I really feel your you guys over there. The company keeps taking from you and the workers keep taking from each other. Would hate to be in that situation over there. Good luck with all that.

I don't think a soul understands what you are trying to say here. But I do!

I understand. And I care. And I feel for those that lose their jobs. Beyond that, as has already been asked, what do you expect me to do about it? Myself and my co-workers are just pawns in the business world.

Should I find out that I will be one of those let go, my response would be an initial "shock" at my life being turned upside down. After that, you get up, study all the options, choose the best course of action available to you and get over it. Life goes on, and I will not let a job change keep me in a state of depression.

:wavey:

I wouldn't let a job keep in a state of depression either. Some folks though have their lives riding on this job. It allows their wives to stay home and raise their children it allows you to buy a nice house and vehicle. It's also one of the few driving jobs where you're home everyday and have weekends and holidays off. So in my opinion when you have your life all set up and then because of some poor upper management decisions that have been made in the past you look at having to totally rearrange your life and its all according to the companies schedule then I believe you have the right to be pissed off about it. Not everyone is high up on the board where they are at and are looking at having their lives and their FAMILIES lives turned upside down................Lastly we wouldn't be in this situation if we had men like Sheridan Garrison running this company.

Nobody owes you a thing. Welcome to the real world. Roll up your sleeves and man up and make the best of what you have. Make a feast out of crumbs.

Well how soon everyone forgets. I guess you don't remember when he sold the company out from under you as the Watkins boys did us. So that is the kind of people you would like to run this company. Well "Sha-Zam" that's what you got. Be careful in life what you ask for. Choose wisely Grasshopper.
