FedEx Freight | Unionize

Unionize ???? You better have "Patel" crunch the numbers for you as Union pay scale is 15% below non-union pay scale , but Union does get health insurance and slowest trucks on the interstate , so you get more overtime pay , because company can't figure out that faster trucks & new aerodynamic mirrors would cut O.T. pay ! But bottom line that is most important is HOME TIME !! So choose Home Time over $$$$$$$$ :6788:

how will they be able to reroute freight when there's a driver shortage? You would be surprised how many Republicans are in unions. People need to stop the political way of thinking. Legal protection has nothing to do with politics. Everyone is entitled to legal protection. There's a huge driver shortage everywhere. You bring a union in, with outstanding pay and benefits. You wouldn't worry about driver shortages. FedEx, lost a lot of great drivers to UPS Parcel. FedEx must compete with UPS to retain great drivers.
3 months paid vacation double the pay rate free healthcare and we get to watch UPS teamsters druel ill be on board. ....NOT...Never gonna happen. You can talk and sell unioun all you want. There's no union right now doing anything good! Anyone seen usf Holland lately. Ups parcel is a fluke. Even then its going by the wayside. To unionize is to sell your soul to the devil. Hey look bell-bottoms were in in the 70s. So was the unions. But in 2022 I won't wear Bell bottoms and I will never unioionize. Unions are like a crazy x gf. They look sexy at first but when morning comes they won't let you go! Sorry dude you would have better luck selling used cars on an ocean liner!

The union looked sexy in 1957, even more so in 1990 when I drew my first C S check, they're still rolling in.
I can't complain.

Now is a great time to unionize FedEx Freight. There's a driver shortage in the industry. They can't make you separate or look for a reason to separate you from the company to unionize. All of you drivers deserve to get better healthcare benefits, a pension and LEGAL protection. Once you get a union in, you will be under the Collective Bargaining Agreement. Right now is the time to unionize.
There is no driver shortage and I know people at some bigger ltl carriers working less than 30 hours a week

There is no driver shortage.
There is a shortage of well paying class A jobs.

No different than any fast food establishment.
Drive down ANY strip, and every FF joint has a "We're hiring" banner out front.

They're all paying the exact same wage to start, so what's the incentive? Why work at X as opposed to Y?

Same with CDL jobs.

I did 11 years in the Union. If FedEx became Union I would leave. 11 years of watching many mechanics do nothing but smoke, coke and joke never get disciplined, never accountable. I left Holland my buddy stayed there another 15 years, never changed, only the names changed. I would rather succeed or fail at my own hand, not have my job security based on a sponge who sleeps on the clock and wants to strike because he don't want to work

Just out of curiosity, if you hated it that bad, why did you hang around for 11 years?
And what was the “last straw” that made you leave? Every company has the ”sponges” as you call them both union and non-union. And most that I know don’t want to strike, they simply want a good contract to work under.

Seems like some folks would do better in management, when i first joined the Teamsters ( mid 80s ) Shop Steward told me, don't be a zero or a hero, keep it it in the middle, worked out well for me
EXACTLY!!!
That is what unions do. They destroy individual work ethic. There is no reward for a job well done. No chance to advance because the slug was hired a day before you.
Mediocrity is not good enough in a competitive industry.
