ABF | Anybody checked out abfatwork.com?

I have LOTS of time to check it out now that my start time was eliminated.

Everyone in Region 1 hold on to your shorts, this one's only gonna hurt a little bit...

Remember to fasten your seatbelt and hang on.

Almost as good as.....nevermind.....just enjoy your trip at the squaretable.....

I think it's kind of visiting day at the joint, looking through the glass, and picking up the phone that doesn't work.

abfatwork with kermit the frog sidestepping all if the issues is a waste of time. We have been told we should have a rough proposal the 1st week of Dec. We will see.

Rough proposals, are really not proposals, thay are insults. Remember this at strike vote time.

my opinion is that the ibt and all the locals are very pissed off at abf for withdrawing
that action necessitates them to negotiate all over again with abf after they are done with yrc
the supplements are done now comes the master
i saw the union proposals for both and they were excellent proposals
the supplement ended up being not so much what we were asking for but definitely not what the companies wanted
they met somewhere in the middle or leaning towards us which i personally feel turned out fine
the master seems to me will follow a similar pattern with most changes occurring in the new hire articles and subcontracting articles both very important for obvious reasons
the main one seems to me the attrition rule being proposed by the union
we'll also see some language changes in some of the articles dealing with electronic surveilance and the like especially where these companies are moving to a "paperless system "of doing business
the union did a great job this time around as far as allowing the rank and file access to the initial proposals
usually we fill out surveys and thats the end of it till you vote on it

now for abf
it seems they will ask for the moon the stars and everything in the heavens
that is likely but more importantly does not mean they will get it all
in fact i would not be suprised if they get a worse version of the contract
( supplements and master )yrc signs
worse from their vantage point that is
either they accept what is out there or they place themselves in a position whereas they (abf) will be the only carrier threatened with a strike action if they do not pull back on their ridiculous actions and you know what that means for the future they seem to be so worried about
however they are right when they refer to the company's future survival and it's prospects as it will not be the union that jepoardizes that future but the company themselves
they wanted the opportunity to not be under yrc's so to speak thumb and they got what they wished for
now it is up to them to see if it was worth it or not

first salvo already shot out by the union when it comes to abf
not being permitted to withdraw from central state fund
it will get interesting for sure

how do you know all of the contract info if you are not in the meetings?

blinkers plate at the squaretable is full

Here's a tidbit you just may never see on Bobs Freak Show. I was denied an ATO because I ran 17 consecutive trips to get me to a weekend. I told that dispatcher in Chittycago that I didn't really care what the (⊙▃⊙) in charge likes, if he has to write a letter, that he should do so forthwith. The dumbass wanted to see my log book, I laughed, told him to check his computer screen and he could check my recap, so instead of getting a 72 ATO i got a 70 hour recap, and now I will run one trip,I'll only have enough time for a turn, then I'll take my 72 hours, and maybe a sick day or two so instead of gettin the day I needed off to almost a week of vacation without taking vacation. If anyone here wants to get a copy of my soon to be best seller, find me in Chicago, and I'll give you a comp copy autographed. Theres some old new crap happening here and I aint the least bit happy with it.

Somebody else says their changing the routing to get off the tollways. thats funny. I hope the *** wipe sends me a damn letter for that too.
Anyway, it won't be hard to beat their asses at this game either....winter is here and I have a new collection of truck friendly Hilton, Marriott and Baymonts, to park their trucks at when the roads get slippery. Another good idea is to pay close attention to their pay routes, especially the one to avoid the Ohio turnpike, this one should get you on the clock in the hotel faster than any of them. When the road gets the least bit snow covered or icy, get your butt off that road and into a nice warm hotel room, (I will start picking the Jacuzzzi suites, because of the sore back I have developed because of these Horse ship seats they are putting in these Siberian Kenworths). And don't feel bad when you put that thing to bed. They certainly didn't have any qualms putting your *** in a sling, and they wouldn't have any problem firing your *** if you turned the SOB over. You are just obeying orders and if you have to remove yourself from a dangerous situation, so be it. If they fire you for that good, at least you'll get back pay with benefits for that. On the north side just off the Edens north of the split there is a Hilton with way enough room to park a set, and the least expensive suite, is $550. I personally would more enjoy the $720 suite, because of the hot tub. If you want to know how to get it in there call me on the cell phone, I will not tell you management guys. You already know everything you need to know because blinker tol' ya so.
Oh yeah I almost forgot, if your house phone is on the company call list, and they call you on your cell, for their benefit, you are not obligated to answer it. They cant do squat to you for not answering YOUR phone while youre on duty.
Also, don't ever short yourself a lunch or a break, and it's just not here it's industry wide. We are all effen ourselves into a slow agonizing death. When you take your hour lunch and two half hour breaks, (go ahead look it up, its in the contract, yo-yo) then hope that storm holds off until you get to Chicago, or else, you will have to put it in the hotel parking lot for ten hours. (I have to tell you guys the truth, the 800 thread sheets they have at the Hilton are amazing) This will start another tour for ya so if you are short a tour for your ATO, presto, not only have you created a tour of duty, you've gotten ample rest and relaxation going into ATO. Anybody in Chicago need any other advice, find me in Chicago. I have the G Martin/B Carter, best seller, "how to sling twice an much manure back, without half the effort"
Si onara.
