Once we become Union will we be pulling loads for brown. If so will stay busy all year long?

Yes, that will be an option, but I do not think it will work out as you think. UPS cut this deal with the Union a long time ago and one of the reasons they are making it clear to the TM's that they better not try and stand in the way. Once we go Union, UPS will more than likely pick what works in the best interest of the "Enterprise", which may or may not work for us. Hope you are right.

If you're talking about UPS Parcel loads the answer would be NO unless it fits into the area of their contract that refers to sub-contracting. They have strong language in this area and it's not likely that you will ever see UPS Freight pulling UPS Parcel loads. UPS has their own Feeder Departments to do this work.

with the indy contract I am sure they would love to have their gypo operation pull all their freight (upsfreight) then they can get rid of all those highly paid primadonna's. Wake up driver demand decent wages and working conditions. UPS Freight will all be a second class division of ups and you a second class employee.

Well then webidiot whatever happened with the Reno contract renewal?
Did your terminal hold out for a better deal than Indys?
Or is it close to that one?
Whatever did happen with your bargaining talks?

good morning we are waiting for the company to set a date to negiotate and I do not know what is going to happen but I can guarantee that we will give it the old college try. Things are at a point that we are retaining a lawyer to sue the union and the company for misrepresentation, hostile work enviroment and other issues. it is time for desperate measures. We all have to do our part to say no to some deal hashed out in the back room so the union carriers have concessions at our expense to compete with non union carriers. Sounds like their problem and not mine. I be damned if I'll do the same job as a feeder driver and not get the pay and benefits they do. What happened to "do the right thing"?

Thanks for the come back on this issue webidiot.
Its hard to believe that you'd have to sue the Teamsters union with them wanting to organize the rest of our company?

As far as getting the feeder package you've got to know your out of luck getting that golden nugget of a contract deal.
Thats the parcel contract, being its the prim rib of union contracts.
We are the adopted step childern,so we get the table scrapes,or left overs, how ever you want to look at this,we are freight they are parcel,we will never be the same.

You are right that the vision retired with Leo.
He said we would have the best equipment, wages, and job security over time.

I guess one out of three isn't bad.
Knowing UPS will be one of the last trucking operations to ever think about going out, that gives us job security.

"What happened to do the right thing"? are you a leadus fraternity flog, you are not comparing apples to apples here man, sue all you want, it may bite you in the a$$, any lawyer who takes this on is only looking for recognition in the eyes of the media. And is prepping himself for a total loss or a buyout. As far as the Teamsters is concearned I agree they are selling us down the river, guess jimmy does,nt want to endup like DAD. We wanted the NMFA , and we are getting SHYT in comparison.

What exactly is a lawyer going to sue for, better wages, NMFA WAGES I agree , you are sueing an LTL company, the only possible thing you could possibly get is the NMFA because it is practical in the industry. Certainly not small package wages. It's unethical, we are LTL and only a subsidiary of small package..

The LTL industry does not pay the same as a small package entity period, you could be opening up pandoras box. I think if more were part of the bargaining process a strike would be an appropriate first step.

To be honest I wish you luck, I just do not see the light I guess, please explain more of your master plan. and maybe you mite have a following.

Webidiot,,,,,,,how can you expect feeder driver wage if you're not a feeder driver? They have negotiated that wage through many years of contracts. You will have to negotiate for your wage as well. You may have to roll the dice and put your job on the line as many of them have to satisfy your demands. Just remember to have all your s&%t together and your ducks in a row because the company may call you on it.:order:
