TForce | What a bunch of fools in Farmingdale

Warning

This is fair warning ........

Some of you guys need to review the rules
we are trying to keep this place civil. If it
can't be done we will get rid of the offenders.

You said it!! UPS is the strongest company out there.Do you believe that the teamsters are telling UPS how it"s going to be??? NO UPS tells the teamsters how it is. UPS sold us to the teamsters so they could control their own pension fund. Wake up smell the coffee

Your a day late and a dollar short.:hysterical:

somone is always controlled/manipulated by someone else....

there is always another person, who is not you or i, that is operating the show..

deal with it Gentlemen...

Learn to accept the things you can change...and accept the things you CAN NOT change...once this enlightenment is reached, we will be much better off...

A mature contract takes years and or decades to build...

I would rather UPS run the ship than Enron or Bear Sterns...or any of the mortgage backed security firms...

UPS will be around long after we are gone, and for that i am proud to have worked with UPS!

told you its a bad deal

everyone voted this dumb contract in. Did you guys know that who ever isn't at top pay has no more .50 cent raise? What a great deal. CRT turned the contract down and they will get better. We lost and didnt gain. Who ever voted in yes is a dame fool!

I still believe that we will generally be better off in the future for accepting a contract. Granted it is certainly not the best one we will ever negotiate but as far as I know the first one is never the best. Probably the younger you are in this company the more you can expect later when it really counts as long as you continue to support your union, grieve the violations, work according to the contract, educate yourself on the conrtact and continue to fight for a better one when the time comes. Expecting the best of everything now is just not very realistic.

Speculation

The contract is what it is and you need to realize that it's not Overnite any more. Remember, we are now UPS employees and we are going to be numbers not people. They are going to be as demanding and pressure us just like the feeder and package guys.

We would not get any better treatment as a nonunion division and have none of the grievance procedures or protections needed to finish our careers with this new company.

I personally talked to package, feeder and loader people who know...and I mean KNOW...
how the corp. is with its people. Not disgruntled employees, but people who are glad they have their jobs, but have given me stern warnings about the company management-labor culture. From what I've heard,we need this union, plain and simple.

Good Luck,God Bless

Seriously guys....I work for YRCW.
Do you think many of us are happy with the deal we got with the NMFA? I personally voted against it, but have to deal with the reality that it is something I have to live with for the next 5 years. I can't tell you how many recorded phone messages I got from Hoffa and Johnson that said how good this contract was for the members. Yet right after those calls, YRCW shuts 29 terminals at USF and lays off another 1100 men. So much for job security. The point is, there are now protections in these agreements that YOU have to use to your own advantage. You are no longer "AT WILL" employees. They can't fire you without just cause. And you also have someone to cover your back whenever the TM calls you into the office for the littlest snafu. There's good points for the contract and also bad points. The idea is to take the good with the bad and make the most of it, so that it works for you more than it does for the company.

It sounds to me like you are the company:butt kiss:. What do we have now that is soo much better than what is in the contract now. Can you please enlighten me because you seem soo wise mr ups freight.
