You guys must have some awful nasty people over there if you would willing take someone like that.... I just don't understand why you would be concerned with a company you no longer worked for :smilie_132:
 
it sucks that some centers got shut down but i highly doubt we will ever merge.at fxfe were are gearing up for major changes too.the company is just reacting to an unstable economy high fuel costs and insane insurance costs.

trust me i personally think fedex is less than honest with us employees and have put inplace and inforced some questionable policies.but i do believe we are two unique operating branches of fedex that provide similar service but not the same.thus offering more options than most of our competition.

what we all should be worried about linehaul more so than city drivers is when they figure out how to run and balance lanes using all of the company branches to pull each others trailers
 
Things aren't looking to good over there. That's how it all starts: they close a terminal here, a dropyard there, and then the whole house of cards comes tumbling down. Maybe another Jevic in the works?

Thank God I got out of National when I did. I knew FedEx only wanted Watkins Canada and once that was up and running and they booted out Day & Ross, they were gonna start folding us up into Freight. Looks like I've been vindicated.

i'm glad i got away from fedex.i was on the freight side for 6yrs,damn near went broke on living on promises.i went to greatwide as a co driver on their sysco account and is home everynite not everyday.
 
well said GC I also am glad I got out of there I just stuck around too long hoping it would change ,but I'm out of there now and glad of it

You almost got it! I tell My kids to "GO play in traffic!!" But thats when I am aggravated to a high level! And I dont let them leave the house without thier helmets on!!!!! So they are safe!:hide:

they are closing the clearwater barn next month, moving it back to tampa. guess what, freight will be moving in as soon as the last national truck leaves.

Why have them and us when none of those area's are a hot bed for freight. So take your chicken little routine and stay away because it is clear you have no idea what your talking about when it comes to FXNL

now, around seven or eight years later, now
they are merging. i don't know if you guys read
the fefw site, but they are closing the fefw
offices in san jose and tucson, people who have
been with the co. for 20 years are having to
apply for the honor of moving to memphis,
harrison ar. or LAKELAND to continue to have
a job. about 1/3 of the staff won't have their
job by the end of the year.

they say it's a merger, but all the jobs are going

we are being told that no drivers are being affected this time ....... I could never tell the two apart
 
How much long haul frt are they getting out of Clearwater must not be enough to keep us thier and if fedfrt moves in big deal what long haul frt they do get is sent over to us

CLW lost a ton of freight when the 1 account rep left. She was the salesperson of the year for almost 8 years straight at one time. When WML sold it was a given that she was going to go as well. Once she left the o/b business dropped. WML used tom service all of Clearwater, FL out of TPA anyway. It was only opened a couple of years ago. Wouldn't make sense to sell it.

speaking of closing barns, has anyone noticed just how close the little reno national barn is to the large freight center? two blocks.
