FedEx Freight | I am a new hire.

Talked to some of my friends yesterday at National. They're hauling 53' trailers around with 5 bills for deliveries and they're not even filling up half the trailer with pickups. Tough to get 40 hours. A couple of dock hands were given the pink slip.

Doesn't look good over there.

Some of the old overnight hands says the same thing about UPS.

It's no wonder we have lost business in your area (if that is indeed the case) with guys with your attitude running around town delivering the frieght since the buyout.....hmmmmmm

Talked to the recruiter today. He said they are just waiting on the criminal background check. And that they are running behind on those. Everything else looked good. Hopefully it wont be long now.

Do you want to start out at the bottom again a few years down the road when FedEx gets FedUp with National bleeding money? They already got rid of Kinko's -they're calling it FedEx Office now. Who's to say they won't get rid of another dog?

UPS Freight is the way to go. One call, one truck shows up...the customers love us because they don't have to deal with 200 different opcos. And you can't beat the pension either. :1036316054:

More misrepresentation!

My manager listened to the state of the company call today and talked to us about the earnings release this morning. Yes, the corp. took a beating in the 4th quarter because they wrote down the Kinkos name change. That's a one time deal and now it's done (accounting wise.) If not for that, we would have shown a profit for the fourth quarter. By the way, the corp. did show a profit for the year, as did the Freight segment (FXF and FXNL.)

AND, they didn't get rid of Kinkos. They changed the name. Same company it was two weeks ago.

As for National, they don't report separate results between FXNL and Freight, but on the call today, I'm told, Pat R. said that they have been extremely pleased with how FXNL has operated since earlier this year and they are basically set to kick @$$ and chew bubble gum. And we're all out of bubble gum.

NOW, please inform us all how they load 1,500 lb skids in those little brown courier vans. One truck, huh? So you're picking up envelopes and 5 lb boxes? If so, you guys totally ROCK!

Here's my opinion: UPS and UPSF are fine, viable competitors. Competition makes us all better. Just please coming over here telling us how bad we suck.

FXF OAF

just started here.Moved here from West.WAY busier here.No more pulling MT's everywhere. All my trailers have been 18k - 22k.Every day.Uh,have you seen the P and L sheets for UPSF...kind of scary!

Hang on...

Hang in there bro' you made the right choice.....dont listen to the haters. Its not the same all over the system, hopefully you are where the freight is falling off the dock....Believe me, Fred Smith knows how to do things, and Larry Miller does too....

i got some good news day before yesterday. (Friday) Finally got things straightened out with previous employers. I am scheduled for the Road test, Written test, Physical, and Drug Screen on 7/07. I was told that if I made to these things I was pretty much hired. Its been a long time coming and I'm glad its over. I'm ready to put those Jevic days behind me.

That's a good sign. Most of the time they test you on a 7 gear ::shit:: GMC truck. If you are a road driver. Thay will test you on a Volvo super 10. Min. of 20 miles on the road test.

After the road test they are going to test you on an open book test on Motor Carrier Safety Regulation. Make sure you do good on it.
