FedEx Freight | 1 minute idle shutdown - it's here!

they should take all of the ac units out of the G.O. and open the windows and work in the extreme heat all day.think of all the money we will save on electricity and then fedex could put that money towards our healthcare.

oh wait i forgot people who work in offices are better than low life loser truck drivers they deserve air because their not scum like us.

I think you're onto to something here! Remove the AC's, and shut off the heat in winter. They could issue FedEx sweaters. But not just in the GO, in all the SC's in the system. The savings would be immense and Mr. Smith could buy a bigger boat!

Take away company cars for all but the sales staff. Why should a SCM get a company car/gas? Then they could monitor gas usage by the indivual sales people and write them up if they don't get the approved gas mileage. We have a sales guy that drives like he's in an Indy car.

They could reduce the number of forklifts on the docks. That would save propane, and save a lot of innocent freight from being destroyed by people that shouldn't be on forklifts in the first place. A win/win!

There are savings to be had all over the place! You don't just have to put the drivers in an unsafe working condition, but you could do it to all your employees! That is sure to give some corporate ninny a rise in his levi's!

I forgot a HUGE waste of money! Our Nascars! Dump 'em! How much is fuel for one of those things? Not to mention they don't exactly promote safety do they? All them Nascarians drinking in the hot sun all day then climbing into their autos and driving away.

Lightbulbs! Reduce the wattage in all lights througout the system! Or, go to all CFL bulbs.

Come on guys! More ideas!

One sheet of toilet paper per associate per day.

I wish my truck would idle 1min

Checked mine last night with the stop watch on my phone 30.79sec between flashes. I pay more attention to my little yellow light then the traffic around me.:TR10driving03:
Why are only the road units affected??? Or do all the city units at non shop locations get over looked?:chairshot:

Sometimes I wonder who thinks this stuff up.Maybe they should do this to all company vehicles.

Write them up on your VIR's,,, I will,,, everytime it shuts off at the 60+ stop lights I go through every night ...... This is just rediculous...... (stupid) Enforce the "rules" you already have,,,, why create more ,,,,,, except to pay people in the offices for doing nothing,,,,,

This is getting exciting! It's time to pull up a lawn chair and beverage cooler and sit back and soak up all of this good wholesome entertainment!:smilie_132:

You watch too much TV.. You did that very well... move on over here.. we could settle you right in with a wife beater and Dale Earnhardt coozie for your bud.

I was out your way back when CF's corporate headquarters was in Oregon.. Never quite made it into the heart of Washington.. Went up to Mt. Hood, saw Mt. St Helens.. some big redwoods... lots and lots of fog, rain and snow...

but I was wondering this... Whats up with all of those men holding hands out there.. Too much male bonding going on out there for me.. I had to get my rump back to right coast.

:hysterical:

Ok, back to the one minute idle!

Man I heard that last night.... That is just STUPID !!!!!!!!!!! How IGNORANT can you get ???? We have over 30 stoplights to go through ONE WAY on our nightly run.... What about the city drivers who drive these trucks ????? My truck uses .4 gallons per hour at idle..... Figure that up.... This is just STUPID,,, and more so DANGEROUS..... VERY UNSAFE.... All lights turn off when the key is off to reset the thing,,, block traffic,,, etc.... I have NO problem turning it off when you get out to hook or drop,,, but this is DANGEROUS......

Come on guys, it's FedEx what can you say.

The solution is simple, dump the tractors and trailers and go back to horse and buggy. It would also create more jobs, Portland to Salem would turn into a layover run, it would take a week to get freight from Seattle to L.A., think of all of the drivers that would have to be hired. We could save money with the state, dump the people and the tractors that mow down the grass along side of I-5, horses get hungry let them eat down the grass. I see only one problem, the emission control, you all would have to invest in pooper scoop shovels, but then again another business opprotunity selling horse manure as organic fertilizer. I better stop right here, I don't want to go into work next week and see a bunch of stables instead of trucks, but I did hear that Portland Meadows was up for sale.:hysterical::hysterical::hysterical::biglaugh:

I just received my one minute shut down this week. Very exciting to be one of the first recipients. It's almost like being the first to get an Iphone or watching them erect the Eight Bells death tent.

I believe once all of the trucks are on the one minute plan we can easily see a twelve million gallon savings per quarter.

I got an iPhone on day one, and it's nothing like this!

Holding Hands

but I was wondering this... Whats up with all of those men holding hands out there.. Too much male bonding going on out there for me.. I had to get my rump back to right coast.

It became all the rage after the photos of bush holding hands with the Saudi King.

All of that extra grease makes your truck go through the air easier making better fuel mileage! Silly!

Yea and also washing the scum off the tractors will get you better fuel mileage...oops I forgot.... we have to use that money to rebrand Kinko's to FedEx Microsoft Office.
