I noticed there has been a job posting for linehaul at the Scranton, PA location. Does anyone know about this particular job. I was curious as to where the runs go and the average pay for this job. Is it true that you must purchase a pallet jack also? How much does the insurance cost for a family and is it good insurance? Do you have to work the dock too? If anyone could answer these questions and give me a heads up on what it's like to work at that location (scranton, pa) I really appreciate it.

Well,I don't know anything about the run or pay or anything else out of Scranton but I can tell you that if its a line haul position then you wont need to buy a pallet jack.Only city drivers need to buy them.

I'm not sure if the insurance cost is the same across the board (probably not) but my husband pays less than $100 a month for the two of us. It's not the best coverage in the world (it isn't terrible either), but we're both pretty healthy so it works for us.

The insurance is $15 for single $20 for family per week. Shadowr434 is right I am a linedriver and I never had to buy a pallet jack. As for the run we have life time bids. This is the only place I have ever worked that has this. You will not be biding every year on runs. You will bedoing whatever they have availible.

I work at the Scranton terminal. Be careful, the driver recruiter is telling applicants that they will make $1000 to $1200 a week yet we are still not getting more runs yet. I can tell you though, Scranton does more linehaul runs than anyone else in the northeast because we are a mid point from Wilmington and Norwalk to the city and New England. Just don't think that you are going to take home more than $400 to $700 a week as a new driver because you won't. Some of the runs we have are garbage runs like Lebanon and Newark where you are sitting for 3 to 4 hours with no lounge, food or tv to watch. Just my input.

I'm only paying $13 a week for single ins. I think it all depends on what company they are using for your area. I know that LEB and SCR don't have the same insurance companies.

actually it depends if you have the CORE plan or the PLUS plan by law the insurance coverage has to be the same offered to all employees. the ins. company doesn't matter the coverage and price is all the same. also R&L is self insured so the insurance company only administers the plan R&L pays all the bills.

So I guess it wouldn't be a good idea to take the Scranton, PA linehaul job? If I can't make $175 and up a night running linehaul, it's not worth it.

You know R/L I think pays good I can't say that they are a bad place becouse
everywhere anyone goes they all have the good and bad.And if R/L is so bad why are people still here? There is a door the same one that we all came in to work every day.
