Yellow | utility question

I transferred from atl to charleston sc. as a utility driver.......yesterday the bids went up and i bidded to the city......i came in from my utility run to charlotte this morning and saw my name whiteout from the bid......i ask the terminal manager about it and he said i cant bid till jan 1.....i ask the business agent and he said i could not bid till jan 1..........how can other terminals in the system allow their utililty guys to bid off utility and i cant?....this is double standards......just about all of the utility drivers i have spoken with said they can bid off now.......i was advised that no utilty drivers from the carolina conference can bid for other jobs till jan 1........why?..........why>........why?.........any thoughts or suggestions would greatly be appreciated.........:hide:
 
This must be something agreed to locally. I would ask your steward or BA where it is written. If they say its just an agreement they made, file a grievance. I would PM KK and ask him his thoughts.

The same question was raised up in the New England area yesterday.

According to Nick the labor guy, If you transfered to your current terminal to bid the futility position, you are commited until Jan. If that was your home terminal you could bid off.

I haven't seen anything in writing, it's just word of mouth

Steward in indy says if there is an open bid we can bid on it but we don't take part in rebidding till after Jan1. The actual ruling says we can't be bumped by a senior man til after jan 1. My opinion is if it goes one way it should go both, if I can't be bumped I shouldn't be able to bid off.
 
i know here ue cant bid city until jan and we city cant bid ue until jan.if another ue run establishes o/o our barn say next month than our city can bid it.
