If you are going to vote no. Please if you can just retire. I can make it on 90% of top. No I don't like it. But if it will keep YRC in bussines I think it is worth it. This is my only chance to be a teamster. If YRC goes ABF is the only one left and their is very little chance I get on there. So Please if you can retire and I will do everything in my power to see that your pension servives. PLEASE retire.

Well said. I agree. If your voting no and are totally bitter and hate your job please retire. I will live great at $20.00 per hour, Ill still make more than all my buddies and have awesome health insurance. Please, just say heck with it dont help sink our ill ship.

If people vote no and then retire as I understand it there will be no monies to retire on

You got that right, if enough vote NO, and YRC goes down, then soon after CSPF will go down, when that happens the PBGC (Pension Benefit Guarantee Corporation) will pick the Fund up. The following is what I get from it. They will give you 100% of the first $11 of your accrual rate and 75% of your next $33. $11 + 75% of $33 = $24.75 + $11 = $35.75 times years of service. A 30yr. person will get $1072.50 a month, a far cry from $3000 a month you would get from CSPF. Nuff Said

Multiemployer benefit guarantees (PBGC.gov)

the pension is doomed either way. there isnt enough working teamsters to pay for all the retired ones. stock markets are in the tank too. The biggest reason its going to be insolvent is there has been little to no organizing going on. A yes vote will guarantee that no one will ever want to join this union. why would a non driver want to make less money and pay dues at the same time? just for fun add in ups pulling out and the thousands that have been laid off from yrc. last but certainly not least, as broke as this government is i wouldnt count on getting much from the pbgc either.

absolutely right okie

the educational system and parents in this country has produced a bunch of whining sissies.

as soon as their nose gets a little bloody, they want to stop the fight.

any YRCW employee knows that right now they are making major changes.

using new and updated od-199's.

renumbering all the road power.

getting ready to put new decals on the city power.

as a person who has seen his share of companies that went down, it sure doesn't feel like this one is just going to roll over and play dead until it dies.

if you don't like what's goin' on, quit.

i hate being diplomatic to fools and if anyone comes up to me and says they're against the 'plan' i'm goin' to tell them the same thing, quit and put some good laid off teamsters who are willing to work, work.

in other words RUN FOREST RUN!!!!!!!!!go see if walmart needs a cart guy.
we who want a job and a chance can make it work , its just time to roll up your sleeves and dig in

I hear everyday, we're done, blah blah blah.
I'm laid off road, hired back in 2003 for the 3rd time with this company. Now laid off road, now laid off from dock. But still working. I still bust my $ss on the dock and expect my co workers to do the same. The ones that don't, don't worry, I'll carry your lazy ***. Like I've done everywhere else I've worked in the last 20 some years as a teamster. The biggest crybabies are usually the ones who do the least. Spending most of the day as a social event, to cry and **** and moan about how they're getting screwed.
Man up, do you job and quit crying.
I blew out the lights at CF, I'll do it here too if need be.

FWIW, here's what I've had to do to get 20 years in. I've paid my dues in the business.

I've started at the bottom 5 times with 3 teamster companies and have worked at 8 terminals. 1988 CVE road, started and laid off. I had to cash in an IRA and get cash advances on my Visa card just to buy food the first time I worked and starved as a casual at Yellow Ashtabula in 1988. Just to get hired and laid off in 1992. Then the best 10 years of my life at CF till shutdown. I missed 2 days of work in 10 years. The best company I've ever worked for, miss the good times in Erie, Pa. Then ABF,
casual at 2 terminals. Was promised full time, didn't happen. Now working in my 6th year back at Yellow road. Laid off 4 of them and now laid off road, bumping to local cartage.
Which I hate doing, because it knocks everyone below me down a notch. I think maybe I've earned it with all the crap I've had to deal with the last 20 years. Now pounding the dock laid off with an 80 mile drive each way to work.

It really amazes me that you think a 10 percent giveback will save this grossly mismanaged co.As far as I can see hoffa hasnt asked yrc to produce a plan showing what significant changes theyre going to make in order to turn things around.Paying us less will only keep them around a little longer! having taken 4 cuts in the past I know that will not work.Vote no!!!

lucky ,hurry and jump on the wally world band wagon with forest . its takes two to push all those carts. In the mean time the rest of us still need real jobs and bennies.
besides all the fun you 2 will have, walmart teaches you how to get government assistance for your health coverage

Longblade I truely want this co to survive. This giveback will not due the trick.Zollars should be fired no parachute the board of directors restructured and anew buisiness model developedt to cope with the changing times.Giving money to an incompetent manager just means he has and will lose more money.Thats just the ugly truth of it.

I agree but its not going to happen . Best we can do it try to make this work . If it starts going south maybe the shareholderS will do something about it for us all

O.K. longblade best of luck to you and yours ,just had to say something due to past experience with givebacks.

I agree 100%, and thats exactly why I'll be voting NO. No, I'm not going to retire either. Because I don't agree with you "yes" men, I should quit or retire? Thats assinine! EVERYBODY has a right to make their own decision based on whatever information they have. I'm basing mine on what I see every day - mismanagement. I WILL NOT SUBSIDIZE MISMANAGEMENT!!! (or at least I can't in good conscience vote for it). That, and the track record of companies that have done so. I've worked for good and bad companies, and I don't see this company as the one that will "break the chain" as far as getting concessions, then staying open. They are simply too poorly run. If you vote yes to keep the doors open a little longer, or whatever your reason, thats your business, but don't try to bully me, or make me and others out to be bad guys. In my opinion, the Teamsters didn't get to where they are today by caving in. And I won't either.

thanks MSIXTEEN,

I am watching, to see if you are really talking for me and my OPPS, vote I cannot make. :hysterical::hysterical:

I think that everyone that wants to vote yes on the giveback is probably not on layoff and has not been for a long time. I think that their opinons would be different if they were the bottom guys that were going to lose thier jobs. I myself am voting a big hell no!!!!!!!!! because I thank that it is selfish to vote yes and see and bunch of brothers and sister put out of work while everyone else has thier 90% YRCW can take that give back and stick it up theier a**! If it is not good for all than we shoud all vote NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!
