i was thinking of moving just to get on as a feeder driver, there is some openings listed as fulltime, and don't say seasonal. does ups layoff feeder drivers? i know most now are seasonal and don't want that, but if i move to take a fulltime non seasonal am i assured not to get layed off.

lost so much money in my 401k, i need a job with a pension as a back up, i have 10 year pension but company now stopped it. what is the average pay for a feeder driver.

Better realize that whereever or whenever you might get on as a feeder driver, you will be bottom man and seniority rules. I know several feeder drivers that have over 3 years service and they still have to work the "sort" to make a living. There is no assurance that a lay-off will not come, noone can give that assurance.

The top pay for a feeder driver is pushing $30.00 per hour, but dont think for a minute that you are going to start out even near this figure. It will take you a couple of years or more to reach top pay.

Since you and I put up with 4 different seasons in the NW, does that make us "seasonal" drivers Drake!!!!??????:biglaugh:

If you don not work for UPS now, you will be a part time driver, even though they call it full time..you will work full time hours like the rest of us, but you are NOT going to get called for work all the time. In Pa the rate for a causual driver is 21.47, but if you get offered fulltime you go down to 16.10 for a year and then you work up from there.
