FedEx Freight | Post after post of how some hate this job, why do you stay?

Let go back to your original post, Butt. The post that started this thread

Now then, Several people have gone out of their way to explain to you the fact that we don't HATE our job, but would like to discuss issues that need to be addressed.

The thing is, you don't really want it explained... or discussed, Do you? You seem to enjoy turning it around and making it about you and all the suffering you've endured, while maintaining your wonderfully positive attitude. To the point where it seems to be all about who's got the Better,MORE POSITIVE ATTITUDE. Mine better than yours/NO mines better, etc.

Who are you trying to convince that your attitude is great, us or yourself?

Now go back and read (again) your first post in this thread. This line specificly:

And instead of YOU making "little smart *** remarks" and complaining, offer some real positive suggestions... Other than blindly following and trusting the purple promise.

Now THAT would be a breath of fresh air :1036316054:

No way , that was great you are THE MAN - best responce I ever read!

I was talking about the smart *** remarks by people like you, you don't need to explain a damn thing to me. And for the record, Until they run me off of this sight I will be on people asses who do nothing but complain.

I'll wager that some of the most defiant posters here have many years with FedEx, Viking and AF. They think they still have clout, but all they've really got left is their old ways/habits and MINDSET and their one trump card: seniority. Oh, and a good understanding of the drivers handbook! Something they most certainly cling to like a bible:Rulz::biglaugh:

ive been here a long time also, and the same as most of you i got stuck here because there isnt a better job to get, but the simple fact is fed ex likes suck-a$$$ and this has become a cut throat enviroment just the way they want it. this didnt become a multi million $ company on it own ,we got US there but now they dont want to give us a piece of the pie and the simple fact is theres nothing we can do about it. the red shirts get there bonuse by cuttin our throats and the lower seniority drivers get abetter run by doin it, there is no loyalty what so ever.you would think when weve made millions proffit every year that somebody would have saved something in case of hard times, not the case if the share holders arent getin there million dollor check every quarter they pull out and we get stuck with nothing, no 401 no pension no severce pay nothing. its not about *****in about are job its about gettin are heads out of are a$$ and doin something that will really help us

Thank you for whinning, I mean posting.

Only a road driver would say they don't complain!Because they think everything is entitled to them.In that they consider there selves not whining. I sit around in dispatch (daycare) and listen to them.:butt kiss::hysterical:

Thank you for sharing your opinion, and I do feel for the people adversly affected by the changes and especially the ones that lost there job, BUT NO MAMA I WILL NEVER HAVE A NEGATIVE ADDITUDE. I was out of work for 19 months awaiting a kidney transplant, living on 50% of my pay, feeling like crap 20 out of 24 hours a day and I never had the attitude of some that I see on here and in my everyday life.
I worked with employees at my barn for over 15 yrs. Then one day 2 of them walk up to me, shake my hand and say good-bye because their wages and benefits are gone. They can't pay their mortgages or feed their children. We are human beings with spirit and soul. Not numbers to some president of a billion dollar company. We deserve dignity and respect. Dockgirl has right!!

Thats a powerful statement, there isn't much that chokes me up, but your words did.

I gave him rep for his post, I didn't think it was out of line or smart *** or whatever, I think he hit the nail on the head. Attention wise I mean..LOL

The cut's hurt all of us.But the one thing none of us can deny Fred has done some good things. There are some things I disagree with. But he is an Honorable man.

As a Marine, Smith had the opportunity to observe the military's logistics system first hand. He served two tours of duty in Vietnam, flying with pilots on over 200 combat missions. He was honorably discharged in 1969 with the rank of Captain, having received the Silver Star, the Bronze Star, and two Purple Hearts. While in the military, Smith carefully observed the procurement and delivery procedures, fine-tuning his dream for an overnight delivery service.

I have been here over 15 years. I have made a very good living for my family.

Is this the best job I have ever had,YES.
Does this job suck sometimes,YES.
Do they like to play there little games, He!! YES.
Is there another company out there that doesnt play games,NO.

All you can do is go to work everyday(when there is work)and do the job they pay you to do to the best of (your ability)not there's, go home to your family.

I don't care where you go to work, there is always going to be that red shirt, SCM or whatever they want to call themselves, that there head is twice the size of there body, that are going to try to make up there own rules.
They never win in the long run.

OK, IM done now,:hysterical:
HAVE A NICE DAY:1036316054:

When I started here I couldn't believe what a kickass job I got. COLD, off the street, read the ad in the want ads. I loved this job until about June or July. I was greatful for how lucky I was to work here. I hated my previous job for over 3 years until I found this one. After transitioning from west to east, it's just like every other job I've ever had. Same ****, different frying pan. I mostly hate being treated like a child now. If management would start treating us like the adults most of us are, they would probably be shocked at how smooth things would run. Before I would take extra runs when asked, and generally go the extra mile when needed. NOT ANYMORE. I come in and run my bid as safely and quickly as I can and go home. I've learned the hard way that you can't up and quit without a plan in place. Another opportunity will come along and most likely I will take it. Until then it's head down, no eye contact, keep mouth shut, try and stay "off the radar".

Don't confuse negativity with people that have been in this buisness for years, and might have some valid points that merrit some discusion. We do not work for a U**** company and have always had the understanding that we have a voice that was heard and respected. Now that our voices are not heard or respected. I think that a lot of what you see here are the frustrations of people that at one time truly loved there job and felt like a respected part of the team.Anyway I do agree that people are only hurting themselves if they only focus on the negitives.

AMEN BROTHER!!

You say how positive you are and pride yourself on this, I don't understand what sort of crusade you are on, attacking people with your superiority complex of being part of the new blood line at FedEx. We should all just bow down at your feet and worship at your altar of Positive mindset. Why are you making it your self appointed mission to p!$$ off everyone out here. Why can we not discuss things without you turning things around and attacking posters. I don't get what your objective is. If you are not interested in a discussion, why are you here? It seems as though you only wish to be on attitude patrol and if everything is not up to your benchmark of sunshine and lollipops, you are going to interject and attack someone, calling them a complainer and go on some tyraid about how negative they are.

From now on, before anyone posts on here, I suggest that we get prior approval from the Almighty Buttnaked one, so as to not offfend his Zen!!!!!

You, Buttnaked, are rediculous, grow up, as you say no one wants to be around a complainer all the time, you are right, but mark my words, no one likes to be around a Self Important, Self Righteous person either.

Can I offer you a lollipop?

Make sure you flip it before you put the cheese on or you'll make a mess.

I've heard people say that expressing there discontent for this company is the reason for this forum. I don't think for a minute that that was the intention of the founder. How many post have we seen here where the guys said they had stopped posting here because of all the negativity. So don't try to feed me this bull sh*t about people using this forum to whine about everything under the sun. The people who do nothing but complain are running off a lot of the decent people who would like to use this forum to communicate with their fellow employees.

Your inability to engage in this conversation beyond merely restating your initial assertion leads me to believe that (A) Your argument has no merit. or/and (B) you personally are ill equipped to do so. Demeaning my and others opinions does not, by default, make you right. You have brought only one line to this debate and repeating over and over doesn't bolster your position. Neither does peppering it with profanity.

As the to Founders intent, I would wager it is to generate traffic and thereby increase revenue. Contrasting opinions are interesting and draw traffic to the site.

Somehow you have crowned yourself the one who decides who is "decent" and what constitutes whining. I don't share your views.

Again, YOU seem to be the only one consistantly making smart *** remarks... Which is fine... funny even.

One last observation. Most people with a REALLY positive attitude don't feel the need to constantly tell everyone about it... Of course YOU might be the exception :biglaugh:

I'd like to see you offer some positive soutions every now and then... Untill then I'll realy try not to waste any more keystrokes on ya. It has been fun though :1036316054:
